Dealer just confirmed my 2024 order but it has a different order number than my 2023 model? Does that mean they aren't processing it as a reorder? Or just ordering in case my 2023 doesn't get built and will change order number later?
If they didn't reuse the same order number from last year, you will not get the special pricing rebate Ford is giving customers who had to reorder.

I believe you cannot get the extender and hard trifold? Might want to check on that. I know they work together but I don't think you can order them together.
Actually that is the only one you can get it with. The text below is right off the web site.

Bed Extender

Available on XL, XLT, and LARIAT.

Not Available with:
  • Bedliner - Hard Drop-in
  • Tonneau Pickup Box Covers - Soft Folding, Hard Rollup

Excellent- sounds like I misremembered. I plan to do the hard tonneau and extender too, but I opted not to include anything that I can add afterwards on my order just in case.

I 've heard that one computer is a Commodore VIC-20
It should be noted that the Vic-20s are still in use in the John Wick Movies. Good Little Machines they are.

I was at my dealer at 9am. I turned over a copy of my build using the price sheet and they said they understood and would place it as soon as the order banks opened. Got a call 20 minutes after I walked out the door and they didn't understand the pricing sheet and that the Lariat came standard with EB + AWD, and the hybrid had to be added on.

4pm rolls around and send out a text asking if there was an update...nothing. 6pm rolls around, I'm in the gym w/o my phone and the dealer calls asking for an email address..ugh. They said something about trying to get the order in tomorrow, but I'm not optimistic. The one hour of the day I was unavailable AND they forgot to ask for an email. I'm just so frustrated right now.

Did you get an email confirmation after your rep submitted the order?
Yes I did. Even before I sent back the signed order confirmation. In fact, even before I got the form to sign... When I was at the dealer ~3:30 PDT, the system was down, but I guess it finally got sorted...

I was an apple guy back then, when they were the open system. I've got a couple of IIe's on the shelf...

My dealer managed to get my order in. He texted and said they had my DORA ready at 4:50 MDT. I went in, signed it, and gave them my DL to copy for a Carbonized Grey BAP Hybrid Lariat with X-Plan. Smooth this time.

At 5:23 MDT, I got a confirmation email from Ford. I think I'm on the long and winding path for a 2024...or 2025.

Your order doesn't need to have a 2024 order if your 2023 is scheduled. You will get a 2023 and a 2024 if you do that.
Last year...my dealer told me the same thing...that my 2022 was scheduled, and there was no need to roll it over to a 2023 order. They even gave me a date.

It was a LIE! By the time I realized something was wrong and started contacting Ford corporate's customer service department, the order bank was closed and my 2022 order was "balanced out."

I hope your experience is different than mine.

Brand new order here. I gave my dealer my build info a week ago. Went in at 9 AM to sign and give deposit.

Salesman said the "New Vehicle" guy wasn't in yet(coming in on his day off). Told me he heard they weren't requiring deposits and they would send me something to sign after they put in my order.

Got a call at 4PST that they actually did need a deposit and they wouldn't be putting my order in until tomorrow because they were only able to get 10 orders entered today.

Feeling like I picked the wrong dealership. Hopefully tomorrow gives better news than today.

Well, I guess Ford did not want to build my XL. Now, to get the minimum options I wanted, I needed to upgrade all the way to a Lariat. Now my sliding rear window will be powered, I thought, well, that will be perfect with a moon roof, so now I'm getting one of those too. The inverter, the aftermarket covers those well. The lariat has them too. Really, if the private offer is what I think it should be, I might get this for less than I could have last year.

Went to the dealer and my salesperson and the order manager already left for the day. They made a build on the Ford site and took my license and said they would put in my order in the next day or two.

This dealer isn’t even taking new MY24 orders because they have so many rollovers.

I have a VIN for my '23 order but I contacted my dealer to express concern about a possible cancellation and no recourse on my next year's order. He said he'd look into it but I'm thinking I may ask him to submit a new order tomorrow and I'll cancel it when my truck is delivered.
