This is probably an unpopular thought.....but I need to keep cost down after paying 4k over MSRP........has anyone seen steelies with raised letter tires? I have carbonized silver metallic I believe its called.....and would love to see a photo shop or actual pic of that color with steelies and raised letter street tires. I am assuming street tires like they come with will get better MPG than a bigger beefier tire...am I wrong? PS....I dont have the truck yet....its " in production "

Hey everyone - I’m not sure if this has already been discussed ad nauseam, but I’m looking for some more information.

I REALLY want to get the Wildpeak 245/65/17’s on my XL AWD with 4k towing. I see a lot of you guys getting them and I think it makes the truck look absolutely fantastic.

However, I am also a bit nervous about how it will hold up in the long term.

Has anyone experienced any transmission, CV joint, or any other issues related to the larger tire sizes? Probably not likely since the truck is so new. But I figured I would ask and get everyone’s input.

My concern is that, while it’s going to look fantastic, in 3-5 years, it’s going to wear things down and cause all sorts of issues and then then I’ll have a mess on my hands and a warranty voided.

If you have any other threads that you know of that discuss this topic, please feel free to comment below and point me in the right direction.

I'd say go for it, while it's a bigger size than stock I can't foresee that size causing any significant problems later down the road. They're some that run so big they have to trim the fender well, yours will have plenty of room to spare. For what it's worth my dealership installed my 245/70/17 Wildpeaks with no problems, and said it shouldn't be of any concern. Plus the truck rides so much better imo with the beefier tire. Also, tire size won't affect CV angle.

This is just for information. I put 265/60/18 Hankook ATM on 18x8 (40et) wheels on my stock (no lift) AWD Maverick. There is no rubbing and it drives very nice. I believe this is the largest tire that will fit on there without modifications to the suspension. Best of Luck and Happy Mavericking!

Yokohama Geolandar H/T G056 225/75 R17s on stock steelies, no lift on a 23 hybrid.

They clear the aftermarket mud flaps with 8 or 9 mm to spare.

Discount Tire removed the OEM wheels and tires, put the TPMS into the white steelies, mounted the tires, balanced them, paid me a small fee for the OEM Continentals, put the original steelies back in the bed, and didn't damage the paint on the rims during installation.

anyone has any experience with the Bridgestone Alena AS Ultra (Costco 235/65R17)?
not looking for new tires anytime soon but thought I'd figure out what options I have. . keeping the stock 17" alloy rims and my mav isn't lifted.

245/70/17 Michelin defender M/S2. 22 hybrid all stock. Tiny bit of rub when braking hard. I’m not worried about it. Looks quite a bit beefier. I love the aggressive look of other tires, but won’t sacrifice ride quality and tread life warranty. These are 70k mile warranty tires. Absolutely the best quality tire money can buy.

That's a really nice tire. Probably the best passenger tire Bridgestone makes.
