The Hybrid guys can keep their extra 130-150 miles per tank while I enjoy the benefits of AWD in the snow in the mountains.

I am very satisfied with the gas mileage on my Maverick EcoBoost AWD- we drove from Streetsboro to Cincinnati (about 233 miles ) on half a tank of gas.
This is something that I was not able to do with my 2019 Trax AWD.
Think about it- that’s really really good for a truck.
Also, let’s get back to the camaraderie of owning a Maverick truck ( or about to ) and stop dissing each other because that’s why we are here in the first place.

I've been very impressed with my Mav's gas mileage too. FX4 and I have the 4k tow package. In these summer months on summer blend gas, I'm getting ~32 mpg on freeways with cruise at 76 mph. State trunkline roads I'm closer to ~33-34 mpg with cruise at 60 mph. Around town, about 23-24 mpg. I'm like the OP where I don't speed much, I stay only about 5 or 6 mph over posted speed limit.

Yes, not as good as the hybrid. However, impressive considering that the Mav still has truck capabilities. Car mpg + truck capability = the reason Ford can't make enough of them.

With the Maverick , anyone who intends to tow anything over 2k lbs via the 4K tow w/ integrated brake controller will need awd, as it's only available with awd equipped EB Mavericks. The hybrid doesn't make that option available. Accept that some need awd.

Why so snarky? I don't understand why some Maverick Hybrid folks find it necessary to shame Maverick EB folks. That's just being unnecessarily divisive; really petty.

Right. That's like saying I like how everyone thinks they need a hybrid. Or hell, how everyone thinks they need a Maverick. Come on man.

Pickups are notorious for having no weight in the back. I drove two wheel drive trucks for many years and always has to add weight in the bed for winter. But the Mav is front wheel drive that certainly mitigates the need for awd. However I have a boat to tow so got the awd version. Very happy with the milage getting close to 29 mpg overall.

I got this new 2023 ecoboost AWD XL (base) trim. Only upgrade was the AWD package.
According to EPA, the mileage should be 23/29/25. 23 being local, 29 highway, 25 mixed.
I live in the suburbs of a moderate size city.
After a few weeks driving, according to the digital trip meter, I'm getting on average 25/32/29.
70% of my driving is highway. But I don't speed much. Usually only 5MPH above posted speed limit. That means only about 70MPH or 75MPH depending on the highway. There are many police/state trooper patrols hiding somewhere along the highway I don't want to get a ticket.
Many years ago I tried a radar detector, but still end up getting a ticket. So speeding is not an option for me.
I'm not a lead foot or racer. I'm not intentionally trying to get best mileage either. Just my usually driving habits. Almost never flooring the pedal.
I was a little upset when my hybrid order gets nowhere, not even in production after almost a year. Finally I had to settle with a 2.0 ecoboost because that's the only available maverick in my local dealer, and there are people trying to buy it.
But this gas mileage is almost as good as the hybrid. I mean 29 combined is amazing! I've never driven a car this efficient before, ever!

I agree, 29 MPG is very good mileage. Also agree it's almost as good (or better) as the Hybrid on the highway. You're in the base trim, which is the lightest weight. I wanted to switch over to the XL turbo but it was too late to change. The Hybrid is working out well here in traffic land.

Give it at least a couple 1000 miles and report back. I'm at 41 mpg over 4200 miles. And that's real world mileage with camping trips, mountain climbs, ski trips, moving hauls, dump runs and a 1000 mile road trip. Somebody said 52 mpg, but then they don't tell you they never leave the plains and haul only air...

Ya I noticed a big difference in mpg.... Once the engine got more broken in.... At around 1k on the truck I was kinda like ya not as good as I was hoping for but now I'm at around 4500 and am happy with the mpg I'm getting now . A nice flat hwy.. It will do about 38mpg at around 65mph..
The head mechanic at the dearship that I use to bring my company f350 is for work or oil changes.. Was taking with him and he recommended doing a oil change at 2500 and again at 5k.. Then every 5-6k after that..

Thanks for this post. I only used 1/2 a tank so far and my computer MPG is around 20. I figured it will get better as the engine breaks in.

Yesterday I drove up one of the canyons near me. The grade was 12%. Bad mpg going up, great coming down, it all evens out.

My hybrid mpg was showing 51mpg when I got home.

I guess you know more about me and my driving habits than I do though, especially since you live in VA and I live in CO which, you failed to notice when you wrote your rebuttal.

The thread is titled 2.0 AWD EcoBoost gas mileage. There is no need for Hybrid folks to show up to throw shade on folks enjoying 32mpg in a capable truck.
