Just happened to check behind the rear seat but realized the rear seat is not latching. I tried pushing pretty hard but no luck. Anyone else having this issue?

I think the fix is to add a washer to one of the bolts. There have been a few posts about that.

Ok heading out to the garage to try a little more force. I gave it about a 4 out of 10 prior and that did not work. I will try 6 out of 10 and see if that works.

Suggest taking the Arnold Schwarzenegger bicep building course then try pushing it. Did wonders for me to be able to close it.

Now the hood double pull latch is another issue. Wouldn't open the other day no matter how many times I pulled the latch and I didn't have anyone else here to pull up on the hood as I held the latch back. Solved it by stuffing a towel behind the latch to get open. I have to take it in to see if the release cable needs a little adjusting. Happened after installing hood struts and realigning the hood.

It’s the hood struts you installed.

Multiple threads here..

Others have reported that in the closed position the aftermarket struts exert upward pressure on the hood which requires someone to push down on the hood’s leading edge while another person pulls the release lever 2x.

The opposite. The hood struts hold the hood down from popping up to the next release position since adding a hood spring fixes it.

Exactly. The struts are doing what they're supposed to do - holding the hood in place. In this case, in the fully closed position. The release mechanism is trying to pop it up but it's not strong enough to overcome the struts (on its own).

You have to slam it really hard with your hands over the mechanism

The hood struts are the issue. Happened to me too. Removed the hood struts and now it works perfectly. The hood is so light that I haven't had an issue opening it without any assist from struts.

Yep I gave it a 6 out of 10 push and it's latched. Thanks
Also is much better to close from passenger side where latch is, if you happen to be trying from drivers side like some are.
