Weird one...just got my 23XL the sticker on the drivers door jam had been removed and replaced very sloppy...but why?

Just rec my 23XL and have only driven it 10 miles. Build date was May 16 so I am shocked that I was allowed to drive it away considering May 18th was the recall cutoff. Anyway....I am sure the recall monster will catch up with me eventually. So I opened the drivers door and I noticed the sticker that is usually in the door jam that has tire size and pressure.....vin #....bar code etc had been removed and then just slapped back on but now some of the sticker is illegible. There was also some other sticker that was removed from a spot below this sticker....I have no idea what that was. So question number one for u guys.....do you have two stickers in your drivers side door jam? Has anyone else had theirs removed and reinstalled in a sloppy fashion? Something is fishy here.......maybe they yanked it last minute before putting it on the train and did the recall and this sticker is updated? Maybe it was a different trim that they dummied down to a XL? The only reason that I say that is because my insurance agent said that it pulls up as a Lariat!!! I told her if I dont get Lariat whistles and bells please dont charge me for a Lariat.......says XL right on the dang truck.
I am hoping to figure this mystery out. I will enclose a pic later if that helps you get a feel.

Trim level isn't a field on the VIN so many decoders may just guess incorrectly at that.

Does the VIN on the the sticker match the VIN plate at the base of the windshield on the driver side? As far as the recall goes, I have seen that with 2 Mavericks my dealership has taken delivery of here in the past wekk or so, both had build dates prior to May 18th but neither show the recall open on them( yes both were hybrids). I told sales to get them delivered asap before it pops up ! lol

Are there any signs of repainting??

Could there have been any damage that was repaired??

A close look would be in order, and yes compare vin on sticker with one at base of windshield.

That was EcoBoosts requiring replacement of the underhood emissions tag because it didn't specify some of the emissions control devices equipped.

There is a commercial for a product where the theme is "wet it and forget it." Your theme for the Maverick should be "drive it and forget it"

That seems very odd for a brand new vehicle right out of the factory. I'd be asking questions with the dealer and looking closely for possible damage coverup.

Hello everyone...thanks for the replies. I really want to get to the bottom of this mystery. Yes the vin matches the windshield vin. So far nobody mentioned if they have two stickers in the drivers door jam....mine appeared to have two stickers or one that they moved around three times. Here are the pics.

Thank you....unfortunately I had to pay the man to get mine quick......they are obtainable if you pay over MSRP. I needed a vehicle in a hurry and could not wait and the Mav was what I needed.

Hello Ford guy. To be clear.....are you saying that you have seen this same sloppy sticker scenario on two other Mavericks? Please see the pics to confirm. Thank you. I will feel better if I am not the only one.

Hello JBryant.....yes I would agree with you but we are not all wired the same. I am wired with that OCD bug and just cant let things go. Its a blessing and a curse.
