I’ve had my 2024 Hybrid XLT for some time now and I just cannot get comfortable in the thing. It seems that almost every time I drive the truck I am making seat &/or steering wheel adjustments trying to find the correct position for myself. I’ve never found it so hard to get comfortable in a car/truck before.

I’m 28 years old and have owned & driven all types of cars and trucks. The ergonomics of the Mavericks driver cockpit are all out of whack (in my opinion, of course). The gas pedal is further away than the brake pedal. Both pedals are too high. The seats lumbar support is too low. The bottom cushion of the seat is firm and angled up causing harsh pressure (over a short to medium amount of time. (e.g. 10min)). The steering wheel is angled away from the driver…I could go on and on.

I’m a 5’11ā€ male weighing in at 170lbs. I feel like I’m a middle of the road human in terms of size & build. I should be able to get comfy in any vehicle, I’d think.

Personally I think the drivers cockpit is aweful in the maverick. Which is sad to say because besides that, I absolutely love the truck. It’s just a bummer because this is one of the most important parts of a vehicle and your experience with it.

How do you feel about your truck? Have you made any modifications to improve the comfort of your cockpit?

On the contrary to many people saying you will "get comfortable", I say trade it if you can.

I'm 6'3", 180lbs, and a weird shape šŸ˜‚. I have long legs and a shorter torso. Meaning almost no vehicles have a steering wheel that telescopes enough to be comfortable.

With that said, back in 2012 I bought a new Taurus SHO. After 4k miles I traded it for a Saab of all vehicles. The Taurus was downright painful to drive after 30 mins, Iver never had a vehicle that uncomfortable in my life. I once had a Cadillac CTS that was close, but the Ford SHO was horrible!!

I'm 6'1" 230lbs and the Maverick is comfortable. Though one thing I don’t like is how low the rear view mirror is. I have it up as high as it goes…

I'm 6' and 250 lbs, and the seats are comfortable to me.

5'9", 200lbs Feels pretty comfy. Sometimes I feel like the seat cushion is a little narrow on the left side. I assume it's just me since I haven't seen it discussed.
Funny you comment on the pedals because there was a thread saying they were to close a couple days ago.

5'9" 220lbs a wee bit over weight. 2024 XLT hybrid lux pack. Three round trips totaling 1800 miles to seattle from spokane and back. run the power drivers seat all the way down. Makes the right armrest taller and you won't be tempted to prop your left arm on the window sill as you can tilt the wheel down. In city traffic I run the seat back up and kind of straight arm it. I think the seat fits me fine.

Just did 1000 mi drive, I think the brake pedal is little high coming off the gas, not back towards you, but from floor height, have to lift foot up for firm push. Seat fair for smaller vehicle, only 5000 mi so far, it will soften up, my seats that was in my Z 4 would be wonderful

Don't own one yet and have limited time in one ( or Ford trucks generally) but we had an old F150 at work where you had to lift your foot off the floor a good bit to use the brake pedal. No leaving your heel on the mat going from throttle to brake. I hated it
That’s all I have noticed

You know men lie about three things. (1) how tall they are. (2) what their golf handicap is. (3) how long their shlxxng is. The seats are not the most comfortable I've had; but they're not uncomfortable.

Women also lie about three things but that's a another story.

6 ft, 170 lb. Door armrest too low and wish steering wheel would adjust lower and farther out. I sit with seat all the way back and need steering wheel closer. Also power window buttons are too far forward. I'm always hitting the rear window controls when I want to hit the front.
