If you're comfortable cutting and modifying the existing grill and air deflector, then your cost will definitely be under $630 unless you have to buy specific tools. Soldering iron, heat gun, crimpers, etc. are all useful, but there are many ways to accomplish the wiring.

I wonder if the Lariat Grill is easier to modify since the cover piece might meet up better with that design.

Are there any structural downsides to modifying the original pieces? I'm going back and forth on getting the new grill/deflector as it's sounded like the ACC is just friction fitted in place without it. If you can walk me through what I can expect that'd be super appreciated.

The CCM sensor itself is very rigidly mounted to the bracket which screws directly into existing holes behind the air deflector. The part which is sort of wedged in is the cosmetic cover only. It's tapered on all sides and has pegs on the bottom so if you cut out just enough space it'll be firmly held in. I also put a small piece of VHB tape on the top face of the cover where it contacts the grill.

Received call from Dealer. About 5 hours labor and $500 dollars in parts to install adaptive cruise control in my 2023 lariat hybrid. Labor cost suggested is about $700.

Dealer will prorate the labor if I pay for parts.

I will get a call once they have all the parts in.

Will post again after install and verification testing of the adaptive cruise control with stop and go.

Dealer had my emprint out if what the order was originally. It had adaptive cruise control on my email order.

As both salesman and I were given a formal chance to review the final official ford order sheet and we both missed his first error, we agreed both jointly to own the mistake.

Honest ethical salesman. We have bought from him before.

I will post the dealer and salesman’s name once all is good.

I highly doubt that they even have the capacity to do that.

5 hours of labor is a steal btw.

Plus there definitely wouldn't be a factory procedure for installing it. Maybe the tech will read this thread and download Forscan on a dealership laptop? Will they populate the factory connectors? Will they hack the grill with a Dremel? How would it be warrantied? So many questions about this.

Changing out the grill was actually the most difficult part for me. Those clips are SO tight, and getting the new ones on was just as hard as getting the old ones off.

They'd be better off dremeling, lol.

For $500 in parts, that can't possibly include the lariat grill and air deflector.

I don't think there is any chance they would use forscan. However they do it, we would need to then grab the values they input as the working values most of us used are a mix of the various options posted here.

I am still very skeptical a dealership can/will do this.

I'm pretty sure there are two Lariat grills. One with the cutout for the CCM and one without. I think if you have a plain Lariat one, it will still need to be cut in a similar way. I speculated earlier that it might be easier than an XLT, but I don't really know.

Thanks for your reply. Dang. I guess I will wait until after a few more brave souls do it with the original grill. I probably won't have to wait long because I think quite a few 2023 Lariat owners are going to find out they don't have the ACC they thought they ordered. I don't want to spend more than $600. Maybe a group of us in a similar situation can complain to Ford and see if they will at least give us a good discount on the parts.

$600 is definitely doable if you use your Ford points that you got when you bought the truck.

I would not buy the air deflector, but I would certainly buy the grill. That is the only part that could really make it look crappy if isn't done right.

Thanks. So maybe I can try modifying the original grill and if I mess up order the Lariat grill with cutout?
