Since my dealer did COVP my order back in Sept., maybe I stand a chance of getting it built, now that it appears a lot of orders might get canceled. Or not...
If the reason your order isn't being picked yet is because dealership allocations (like mine is) the best you can hope for is that at your dealership they missed a couple orders before yours with the COVP and didn't correct them. Thus they will get cancelled and move you up the line. Otherwise if they did everything correct...wont make a difference if dealership X, Y, Z....all had cancelled orders....your dealership A... shouldn't be affected at all by it

Sarah via phone call salesman confirmed covp ,then Tim mentioned
If one changes body trim has to be reinterred as such,
To b3 clear I changed from xlt to xl 5 months ago
Please advice
ITs the engine change that requires a new COVP. so Eco to Hybrid or possibly eco to tremor, or eco AWD to FWD

I think that if Ford really wanted to make the effort they should have not taken too many orders again and confirmed them only to to have waiting customers to no avail. Sorry, it's not the customers responsibility to have to jump hoops to assure the dealers are doing it right.
I do think the second COVP seems a bit over the top. But Ford did not take too many orders. They take as many as they build. The DEALER takes orders and puts them in the order banks. Sorry, but DEALERS knew they were taking too many orders......

Sales manager tells me they have allocations and priority is 10.

I finally got around to contact my dealer today about this and was informed that I should be getting an email from Ford soon because I've finally gotten picked for build and he gave me my build week (see my .sig) and VIN.

Good luck to everyone else.

simple software change - Ford knows how many they can handle , when that number is exceeded by legitimate COVP'd orders then no more orders are taken. What's so tough about that? Tmaster doesn't sell more tickets than a stadium has, when they're gone they're gone.

Well, if you think Ticketmaster is the standard to judge customer service by, then I cannot debate with you......

Here I'll change it. Kroger sells bananas when they're all gone they don't take orders for additional banana purchases. There, I fixed it.

There is no "second COVP"... If your dealer complied with the COVP process when you ordered your Maverick, you should be just fine.

It's the dealers who said "Ford isn't requiring COVP - it's just "recommended" - so I'm not going to do it" that are now having to hurry up and get it done now, so their orders don't get cancelled. And of course, that percentage of dealers that never read anything Ford puts out will just have their orders cancelled, and tell their customers it is Ford's fault...

Kroger takes orders for future delivery where you guys are? Around here, they don't even take "same day" pickup orders... But hey, they DO follow Ford's example by making up for the poor customer service with higher prices... 🤣

Here let me try one more time: you go to a movie theater to see a movie and the ticket seller sells you a ticket - when there are not any more seats left the ticket seller informs you that there are no more seats left and you don't get a seat.

Your model doesn’t apply here because Ford’s manufacturing capability changes over time with model mix, supplier issues, and actual plant equipment maintenance and labor variables. Not to mention marketing variables like product mix adjustments and changeover timing. Even then, Ford has exceeded the Maverick build plan most months and is adding a third shift to increase it further. It is not a simple one night show with a fixed number of tickets.

Having said that, Ford allowed dealers to log way too many orders before cutting off order entry or determine allocation. So you are correct in assigning some blame to Ford, it’s just not as simple as you suggest.
