Ford maverick hybrid 18k miles check engine light

Hello everyone today my ford maverick hybrid check engine light came on and won’t turn off the truck has 18k miles I bought it almost one year ago anyone have ideas of whats wrong with it

I would take it by Advance or Oreilly to put a code reader on it.
If its the P0402, there's a TSB for it.
You can also check the FordPass app to see what it says. That would give more insight.

A check engine light can be about 1000 different things. Even simple things like continuing to fill your gas tank after the handle clicks, thus filling the evap tank in the filler tube, can turn on the check engine light. You need an OBDII scan from a part shop, or a dealer.

More than likely the exhaust/heat exchanger will need to be replaced with a backordered(but redesigned) part because of a faulty bypass valve.

The line to fix the bad PCM seems pretty long so I hope it’s not that for you. Mine has been at the dealer waiting on the part since 2/17!

Right before this happened I was driving slow thru a car dealership and I hit my brakes and it would not stop right after that is when I noticed the light on
