Has anyone else been asked to sign a no sales provision? What is your opinion on this? Should this have been revealed at the time ordered was place or at the time of sale?

While possibly enforceable, it would be on the dealer's dime. And even then, at what cost With no guarantee of recouping anything? And what is their harm?

I mean, let's say someone resells their truck for a $5K profit. Is Granger going to sue someone 10 states away to recover it? And what would be left after legal fees? Considering how many of those trucks they sold are going out of state, I'd say it's nothing more than a scare tactic.

If you are trying to prevent Mr. Rich Joe Customer who ordered 10 to flip and make $5-$8K per truck, then I can see the point. If you are trying to prevent Ordinary Consumer who buys one, then loses their job six months later and has to sell it, then that is a totally different story and I do not think most lawyers would say that would hold up in court.

You couldn’t be more wrong.
They sold us our trucks at thousands under MSRP depending on which promo the buyer used.
They sell service contracts at $50 over cost.
They refused to accept new MY23 orders due to the volume of rollovers to ensure their current customers weren’t leapfrogged.
I lost my transit title and they refused to let me pay for postage when they overnighted the replacement title.
Granger is the anti-stealership.

staunch Granger defender here too. If I was them, I also wouldn't want greedy flippers attempting to take advantage of my fairness. They are a small town, friendly company, and flippers should simply avoid doing business with them.

I think the requirement is BS but you need to look at the bigger picture.
I never in my long life have sold any vehicle within year of purchase.

  • Are you planning on selling within a year?
  • Can you get an equivalent deal some where else.
If your answer is no to both and you are otherwise happy with the deal you have buy it.

If you would have more fun fighting the contract then by all means do that.

It amazes me how many people on this forum ordered multiple Mavericks then sold the ones they didn't want to keep or sold it within a couple of months of getting it because they didn't like it having bought one sight unseen. Anyone that is still waiting for their first one should be upset by those people because you probably could of had yours by now.
Granger is a good dealer that is trying to reduce the number of shifty buyers.

Was it not shifty for Granger to offer these vehicles $3000 under invoice in an attempt to scam Fords allocation system to get more inventory for themselves?

Ultimately Ford wants happy customers who will come back. If Grangers’ tactics give them happy customers and more allocations and even more happy customers, isn’t that what Ford would want? I think that’s the beauty of the allocation system, it rewards good dealers.

I love the way they avoid using all the pronouns by just referring to the customer as an “it” 😝

I am glad you had an exceptional experience. But I stand by my comment that doing this just reeks of stealership behavior. Why on earth do they care what one does with a vehicle that they sold them. Not all Granger customers have been happy with them. Hopefully your experience isn't the exception, but the rule. Greed: I don't want you to sell the vehicle we sold you and make the money we could have made.
