I would be perfectly happy if they would make the truck completely reliable. No recalls, no tsbs, and no warranty items. At least for a year or 2 so its not a brand new truck when it does happen.
Mine is almost two weeks old and I'm hoping that's the case and I'll be happy because right now I'm loving it. And I'd better because I waiting 16 months.

Personally I backed out (twice) in ordering a new Maverick simply because of the interior color, that's #1` for me, I do not like the blue interior. If Ford were to offer a grey or black, then I might pull the trigger and order one.

Outside of that, I think Ford found the sweet spot for buyers by pricing the Maverick where most folks can afford one; let's keep it that way!! And, Ford will sell a TON of these Mavericks.

I would like to see a little more premium features on the Lariat w Luxury package at the top end. Things like Sync 4 or wireless car play, or even better audio or larger infotainment screens.

Rear defogger (not sure if that's an issue with current owners, I imagine it would be, current owners, please chime in), rear a/c vents, and front parking sensors.

  1. 5 foot, rather than 4.5" foot bed, that's just about the only thing I could see that would realistically make the truck functionally better.
  2. Smart key for all, but base XL. If not possible (cost), at least make the switch blade key better.
  3. Bigger, auto dimming rear view mirror as an option
I agree on the bed size , it needs to be 8-10" longer

I've never used a RR defroster on a PU, even tho I've had several that had the option, due to the vertical nature of the glass. It was a smart area to save cost, IMO.

Get rid of the seat belt screen-especially after it's been buckled...
Get rid of the "Ready to Drive" screen.
Let me set the default driving mode to Eco, or remember it from the last time it was set.
I almost feel like a pilot going through pre-flight when I start the truck. All of these would cost nearly nothing to implement and would do a lot to smooth out the user experience.

Wireless charging in the console would have been great, especially combined with:
Wireless connectivity to Carplay/AndroidAuto.
Ambient Interior lighting on XLT Lux would have been great (You don't realize how much you like it until it's not there).

I like having a key, but removing my remote start from the fob when they rolled it over into a 2023 was not okay, along with some other things that were "downgraded" from 22-23. Ford needs to do better with transparency and communication (Understatement).

I've used the bed for drywall and plywood - no issues. I really enjoy it's versatility. The cubby works perfectly to store bungies and ratchet straps.

Still waiting on a reasonable Fender Flare/Mud Flap combo to plug up the slush hole.

CoPilot 360 should be one package that includes ACC and Lane Centering. I'd be curious to know how much money it "saves" by separating this into a separate package.

I'm really enjoying making this truck my own and I do like how "basic" it is, but there can be improvements made that cost Ford little to nothing and would make it even better to drive.

I probably said it back when this thread was posted in August 2022, but I will say it again.

60/40 split rear seat.
Eruption Green.
Better/newer SYNC software/hardware to allow wireless connectivity even on base XL trim.

Wanted to see what you guys would change or not happy with on your maverick, maybe Ford is reading these posts.
My 3 biggest gripes are the key, I've had my truck 2 months now 1600 miles and got used to the dummy shifter But still get in the truck and put the seat belt on and realize the keys are in my pocket drives me crazy, come on now how many chips more would it take to make it keyless entry push button start My last 2/3 cars were keyless and it makes life so much easier.
The only other 2 gripes I have is the windows and having to use a cord for my phone, am so used to auto up and down on windows still hitting the switches and waiting for windows to go up or down, that should of been part of the lux package. Guys I have been driving for over 55 years and don't mind the maverick is a basic truck and wanted a 30k vehicle, Maverick fit the bill BUT theres a few things I think would of made a big difference. but why should Ford change anything there sold out and will be till someone comes out with another vehicle like it. Hey don't get me wrong these are minor and I will get used to putting my key in, holding the switches down and plugging my phone in. I love my Maverick.
I would like to see a push button start, hybrid AWD, wireless phone connection, a larger AGM battery that doesn’t die on me from , short trips, a life size screen, and Home Link so I don’t have to carry a garage door remote.
