So annoyed since I was about to drop the Lux Package on my Hybrid and I thought I would try it this week. Should have just done Hybrid without anything. So annoying that you can’t get what you want to order. Plays games to get better odds and get screwed by something else.
The somewhat amusing part is the number of people who jumped to hybrid Lux packages to get around the hitch problem and Tim says he had hybrids with just a hitch previewing.

I have always said to just keep what you want. No sense playing games. If you don't get it, there are other vehicles.

Now I am stuck and wondering if any of the experienced MTC persons can help. I just was recently at my dealership for service and was told I was 37th of 42 new 2023 Maverick orders. And something along the lines of them knowing how many allocations they were getting right at the start of order banks being open and I should have an allocation. Sales rep was mentioning that they have been previously getting around 5 allocations a month on average, so my 37th would be like 7-8 months wait.

I just sent my dealership an email (and they are not great with communicating) asking how many hybrids are actually before me. If Ford still is aiming for the 65% EB 35% hybrid, would Ford skip over those dealership allocations for hybrids to keep building ecoboosts and thus mine could be built faster? Like how they do if yours had the mudguards or hard trifold, (constraint issue) and it was showing as a constraint in the Ford system they would hold yours and build the next in line?

I keep seeing and hearing about how by spring/summer all ecoboost retail should be built due to lower numbers. But if my dealership has a bunch before me, does Ford just start building fleet and dealer stock until my allocation comes up 7-8months down the road? Or would the retail orders not affect allocations in this case and they would build all the retail ecoboost and ship them to the customers?

Its just hard for me to believe that in a few months they could have built all the customer ordered ecoboosts, before then swapping everything to fleet/dealer/stock. Yet it is possible that we would still have to wait for our number to be called, months after they could have already had the custom order fulfilled?

Can anyone who knows a little better about how the ordering/fulfilling/allocations thing works out, help me out? Im sure there might be others on MTC with similar questions. Can Ford just bypass the allocation system in a case like this, where they could literally have all ecoboost mavericks delivered to customers before the year is done?

People are sort of hard wired to try to see patterns even when there is no real pattern. That is why people can see shapes in clouds. It would be a mistake to assume that the scheduling and allocation process is something that follows a predictable grand plan.

No one really knows just what a dealership will get or which trucks will be scheduled until it happens, including Ford.

Apparently there can be special allocations too and I would think that when most of the Ecoboosts are made that the remaining ones might get a special allocation to build a customers Ecoboost even if a dealer would not normally have an allocation for it. For example when all the customer orders for Ecoboosts have been built except for 500 of them Ford will likely just schedule them all unless there are other constraints.

There is no real "line" at a dealership unless your dealership has identical orders. They have not said it but I would assume that even the color could make a difference when figuring out which trucks to schedule since they may not be painting all the colors all the days.

I placed an order for an Ecoboost on the Monday just before the orderbank closed but it got scheduled in early January for a late March build. My order just happened to be what Ford wanted to fill a slot on that day. My dealership does not give out any information about the number of orders, allocations, or where I am in a theoretical "line" but I am sure that I would be near the end of it since I did not get my order entered until relatively late.

The fleet sales may not be as much of an issue as you might think since I would assume that most fleet buyers would love to get a hybrid instead of an ecoboost because of the better gas mileage. If a fleet buyer wants a hybrid and your dealer has orders for both hybrids and ecoboosts then building your dealer an Ecoboost for you might free up a hybrid for a fleet buyer.

I saw 3 yesterday alone! Of all the vehicles on the road, the Mav still gets me the most excited to see.

Moment of weakness? My friend, I think you did just fine. $1500 over msrp is $1500 (I dunno, maybe 3k, maybe 1k) under book value. Congrats.
The weakness was not the $1500 ADM as much as spending money on some options that I don't think add a lot of value (to me at least) such as the black appearance package (though it does look great) and the moon roof. I prefer to spend my money on additional functionality instead of appearance. I would rather that it have CP360 which it doesn't have rather than either of those options.

Does this mean packages like the Lux on hybrids aren’t previewing either?
If so, that sucks that ford didn’t call out that constraint.
That's what he said last night none of his with the full size spare, whether part of a package or standalone, were previewing.

This is exactly why I passed on a Tremor. While cool, I just need a commuter vehicle for my wife. Front wheel drive is all I need. If I want AWD I would go with an FX4 with 4k and come out cheaper. I do not go "off roading". It was nice and drove great.

Just watched Tim. (Ford Video Guy). He believes one holdup, and not previewing/scheduling Mavericks with the “Full Size Spare”. All of his orders that were previewing did not have the full size spare. That sucks!
So I guess no Tremors scheduling for this week

This is a great point on colors. My dealer has had a number of rollover orders scheduled that are identical to my unscheduled order. They were all 2021 orders placed after mine, the only difference is the paint color.

Funny enough, he did say he had Tremors previewing. Which is why I think it is more Ford trying to focus on EB Lux instead of Hybrid Lux. I wonder if their internal analytics shows they would indeed be most done with EB if not for the fact all the lux packages have mostly gone to hybrids.
