Great pictures. Thank you for sharing all of that.

Did you buy a Lariat grill or modify yours? Can you show us your end result?

I modified the existing bumper. I did the classic thing where I was trying to perfect something that no one would ever see and nicked the bumper with my dremel causing the groove in the plastic.

In hindsight I could have done a better job, but it is wedged in fairly tight. I figure if it comes loose and flies off I will come up with a better way of securing it. Other than the groove in the bumper you can't tell that it's aftermarket if you're standing more than a few feet away.

Yeah, that nick in the bumper will bug you forever but nobody else will probably ever even notice it.

I thought for sure from other pictures I have seen of the ACC cover that it had notches cut in it. It looks like the grill could be cut longer to go inside of those notches.

Yeah you could honestly leave all of them a little longer and then notch the cover to really fit snug. You’ll see the tricky part is when you have the bumper off getting the CCM cover to set exactly where it will when the bumper is back on. It’s very difficult to figure out exactly how it will fit without actually having the bumper on the truck.

This caused me to to make super tiny adjustments with my dremel, mount the bumper, attempt to set the CCM cover on the radar and if it didn’t fit, remove the bumper and shave off a tiny bit of the plastic and repeat. I should have gotten brand new dremel bits, you can tell from the pictures it was kind of melting the plastic rather than cutting it towards the end.

So what holds the cover on? Does it clip onto the CCM? Or does the bumper push against it and sandwich it on?

It's just wedged in between the grill. That's why its important not to cut too large of an opening. I circled the places where the grill makes contact with the cover in this picture.

I couldn't find an actual picture of the CCM cover not installed, but the reason you notch the bumper (Step 8 in the air deflector removal section on page 1) is because the cover actually has a small extension on the bottom that extends down and somewhat holds it in place.

I'm not sure if someone has a picture of the CCM cover separate, that was a pretty confusing last sentence. I was going to attempt to draw it but I think it would be even more confusing.

The ACC sensor for a Ranger and Bronco seems to be located in the bumper area. Do you think it would work to place the sensor in the Maverick lower bumper? There seems to be space in this open area behind the bumper where it could fit and you wouldn’t have to cut the grille.

It appears that both of those options out the sensor much higher up than it would be on a stock Maverick, in the lower bumper.

I was considering doing this mod come summertime but don't have any experience with FORSCAN/ electrical wiring. However, this guide seems pretty thorough and I'm good at following instructions. How long did this mod take people? Is there anything I should be researching outside of this guide before diving in?

Forscan is actually the easy part.

If you have never taken an airbag out before, that part can be a little intimidating.

Just kill the battery and take your time.

Might take you a few hours if you are super cautious.

If you have done this stuff before, you are looking at 30 minutes.

There is NO need to take the stearing wheel off. The redneck video shows how to do it from the front, and it works great.

Oh damn, here I was assuming it'd take a full weekend. As for the airbag, I thought we were just needing to wire under it, not remove it? I must have missed the video on the steering wheel going through these posts but I'll be sure to check through again before starting. Super excited to get this ACC/ Lane centering added to my XLT Lux!

Oh, crap. I thought this was the thread about adding CC to an XL... My bad for not paying attention, LOL.

Adding the button and programming forscan will take 1-2 hours, if you aren't familiar with it.

Adding the ACC radar, wiring to the BCM, and the ICM... Completely different ballgame. Likely a few days, if not more.

Sorry!

This all looks pretty good. It's pretty much what I paid for my all my parts.

For the CCM pigtail, I bought that exact one. You might need to waterproof the connector a bit(Clear silicone) though as I noticed on mine from the same vendor that the terminals are a little exposed on the backside.

For the odds and ends I bought this from Amazon. Some stuff I already had like the ring terminal and wire for the CCM(I used Cat5E cable)

Fuse Tap
Harness Tape
Heat Shrink connectors

You can get away with buying Cat5e wire at home depot. About 20ft should do.
did you just strip the casing off the cat5e and unwind it to get your four different color strands?
