Engineering has given my Dealer instructions on how to run a new circuit back to the socket for the trailer running lights. Can't wait to see how this is accomplished,,,,,

Well if they can run a new circuit then eventually aftermarket will figure out how to run a new circuit and get around this mess that people are having

I have a 2023 Maverick AWD with the tow package. Has anyone had any problems with the 7 pin plug not working correctly? I plug in any of my trailers and only the turn lights and brake lights work. No running tail lights or marker lights. I hook up my F350 and everything works fine. Dealer can’t figure it out.

Yes, spent 3 hrs at Long-Lewis Yesterday. There is no “tail light trailer wire” in the wiring harness. It is a mistake from the wiring harness provider. They put The part on order for my truck.
Should be able to somehow temporarily clip into tail light wire if it becomes important enough to you.

Yes, spent 3 hrs at Long-Lewis Yesterday. There is no “tail light trailer wire” in the wiring harness. It is a mistake from the wiring harness provider. They put The part on order for my truck.
Should be able to somehow temporarily clip into tail light wire if it becomes important enough to you.

Wiring harnesses to add trailer lights and work with a truck and not void the warranty

One has to wonder if they used the same harness for both the 4 pin and 7 pin. Oops!

True or not...

4 pins have running lights.
7 pins have running lights.

Pin 1 ground
Pin 2 running lights
Pin 3 right turn signal
Pin 4 left turn signal
(Pins 3 & 4 simultaneously constitute brake lamps)
The 5th pin is for trailer brakes
The 6th pin is for trailer back up light (white light if equipped).
The 7th pin is for 12v battery charging, if equipped.

Is yours also a 4K, like @quinngoeck and mine? Trying to figure out if this is isolated to 4K-equipped trucks.

No I haven’t found a fix for it yet. I’ve been trying to pin the dealer down on it with no luck yet. I’m not taking it in there again until they have a fix for it.

Could be the reason for the constraint on the stand alone hitch?? (Just a guess)

Automate states: the trailer control module that drives the trailer connector. It has micro-chips and some chips are still in short supply.

Yes, every Ford vehicle from the factory with a hitch requires a trailer module with micro-chips. And when those chips are in short supply, guess which vehicle gets constrained? The very cheapest one, the Maverick with stand alone hitch.

There is only 1 USCAR harness leading into it, the 7 to 4 is internally jumped within the connector.
