Would there be any reason for a dealer not to input a customer email addresses for the orders? I placed mine on 9/16 and have yet to get a confirmation email. After going back and forth between the dealer and customer service multiple times, Ford customer service recommend I reach out to the marketing department. She was able to confirm that my order was indeed placed and if I am not receiving an email its because the dealer did not enter my email address on the order, which the dealer has claimed they have done multiple times. Ford marketing also said another reason my order is not showing up in my ford account is because the dealer ordering system is different than a customer order and it would not be visible until a VIN is assigned. Just wanted to see if there was something suspicious going on here and if there's a way for the dealer to manipulate the ordering system, whether good or bad...

Ford's e-mail system has been very inconsistent with people missing confirmation or schedule e-mails even if they received others successfully. And, yes, your order doesn't show in your Ford account until you get a VIN to enter.

Well that is a bit more reassuring that it has been pretty inconsistent for everyone...

Do I get a VIN once it is fully confirmed or do I only get a VIN once it has been scheduled for production?

I had two orders that didn't have my email address entered into them. A call to Ford Marketing confirmed that the orders were indeed placed and they added my email address to the orders so that I would get notifications. They also stated that some dealers haven't been entering in the customer email address so the dealership gets the production notices instead of the customer This makes it easier for the dealership to track orders since they don;t have to keep looking it up on the weekly order status printouts.

Weird... she didn't offer to add my email for me... oh well.. So I guess instead of the dealer looking up orders, they'll just be taking weekly phone calls from me asking for updates. Take that for being lazy.

My dealer gave the excuse that they have been having trouble with email from Ford????? What does that mean? It's always easier to place blame on the system.

There is a spot to enter in 2 emails on the order. So the dealer and customer can both have their emails on the order. So it doesn’t help or hurt the dealer in anyways to not have the customers email on the order.

Well that may be the case but that was what I was told by Ford Marketing. May also be that some dealers don't want to do the "extra" work to enter in another email.

Ya it’s stupid if some don’t do it. Some don’t want their customers informed and want total control. So what I would do is make them want you to be informed by bugging the living shit out of them every week. Lol

I ordered around 9/16. I learned that the next day the rep. redid it because she entered the email address incorrectly. I never did receive a confirmation at the outset from Ford. But yesterday I did receive the 45 day note others have reported so ford does know I have an order and they do have a working email address.

Same here, I never received a single email from Ford on my fulfilled 2022 order or on my 2023 order. Every time I speak to Customer Service I make note of that and provide my email address but that has changed nothing. All my updates have come from Customer Care. I usually had ti update my dealer on progress.

The right dealer will put your address in the COVP correctly and create a template to send you correspondence they receive from Ford. I received multiple emails with the corporate header. Having a proactive dealer makes you feel like a truly valued customer instead of a number.
