I agree with Old Ranchero's analysis. That is a 2022 build order, probably created by the OP with a dealer card attached...nothing more. Whom would think that is a legit dealer order? Nobody else here would.

Hey if ordered a 23' Maverick, got the order confirmation email... then called my dealer and added some upgrades (awd/fx4) should I get another confirmation email?
No, you will not

y'all are missing something crucial.... When the Order Books for MY2023 were opened up... (Sept 16 - 20), The OnLine Build-Out Tool was not available for MY2023 on the Ford Site... One dealer I went through the build out of a MY2022 and just said standard equipment & prices would be adjusted thorugh the order app.

It's certainly possible that the salesman began the process by doing the Build-Out with the available MY2022 Tool. Of course, an unknowledgable salesman who wasn't aware that VB was going to be cancelled for MY2023. Remember folks, dealers were getting Build Guides and Price Sheets Thursday afternoon on the 15th... hours before the Order banks opened. This salesman may not have looked anything over.

Anyway, possession of that MY2022 Build Out is not evidence the OP is fabricating.

I am not sure at this point not receiving confirmation is a bad thing. I shopped my 22 Lariat today with what may be a major issue.

Southway ford did it to me again. My first order never went in and now I found out they never submitted my new order when the banks opened up. I believe they submitted it but perhaps sold it for the upcharge. I am soo upset! How can they get away with that!
I understand how upset you are and none of the responses will make any difference, mine included. You may be right and they switched the order to a different customer willing to pay more but that would be ignorant on their part. An angry customer can affect much greater loses in "lost opportunity" than they could possibly earn selling your truck. Just a thought: have you ever heard the old saying the squeaky wheel gets the oil?

Yes, but when you already didn't get an order in the previous year due to an issue with the dealer... That changes the dynamic. They screwed up once and OP doesn't get anything from them at all? Whether I have ordered an extension chord from Amazon, this vehicle or something in between in magnitude, I've never assumed my order was in until I got an actual confirmation it went through from the seller. This is like seeing you put something in the cart on Amazon and assuming it's good from there.

Mac Haik in Houston has been fantastic so far. While certainly it can be different from one to the other based upon managers... this thing is fishy.

How could they sell it for the upcharge when no 23's have been built yet?

If they messed up your first order (assuming that was for a 2022) OK, that happens. But why would you go back to them? Or not stand in front of the desk and wait for the confirmation? I watched the salesperson input my order, he even let me look at the screen to verify the options. I got a confirmation from Ford about 20 minutes later.
The in town local Ford dealership screwed me in 2014 when I bought the Exploder. I went 100 miles away to Troy, AL to buy my Mav. (Son in law played online with a guy that worked there that no longer works @ the dealership. Lol. 424 days from the order on 7/31/2021 to build 9/27/2022. Confirmed it got on a train. ETA 10/27-11/2/2022. Heavy sigh. Honestly, could not get excited yet..........email this afternoon. Pushed back to 12/7 ? ! ? ! ? !
Think southern here: WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA?
Interpretted; WHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!! LOL.
SmH.
Meanwhile, 4 new tires on Exploder, 2 last month. 2 new brake pads last Fri. A WHOLE lot more miles than...... what did they tell us, 4 months for delivery? So lots more miles than the end of November 2021.........
Ugh.
I wait.......she's built, she's real.......maybe I can go get her!!??!! ;) :( :)
Prayers appreciated. ❤
And back @ everyone of us that chose to make this journey for a lil pickup that is gonna save some gas $$ :)
(The Jeep Wrangler got 18mpg on a few good days out of 12.5 years. The Exploder only 21, but was better than that. tapping fingers on table........) ;)
