I could not respectfully disagree more. A good business model involves being first out the door with a reasonably priced, innovative product that makes people feel they cannot live without it. Get it out there, bang the drum and control the market segment. There will be the johnny come lately crowd from GM, Toyota and Stellantis but by then the Maverick name is synonymous with the small pickup brand. Ford will sell at least 50% of the segment and the other 3 will fight for the rest.Raise the price. A lot. Until supply balances demand. They can always discount it later. Ford is a business. Not a charity.
I wager heads are rolling at Ford now for underpricing the Maverick and misjudging demand. Pretty sucky business acumen.
When you have a cold do you ask for Puffs or Kleenex? Xerox? Band-Aid?
