but at 24MPG it is $14,500, My current auto has 260,000 miles on itI have a hybrid for about two month. Great small pickup car. I used to love it by the time i stock in snow driving uphill. Than, i felt embarrassed and powerful, my maverick Hybrid love start to fade. (something like this - you got the drama.)
Next, I got home and asked myself. Why I got 2WD ? I always had AWD or 4x4. my answer was simple. I wanted to save money. I wanted a car under 20k that takes 42 mpg. I WAS WRONG.
I should have put those numbers in excel before i purchase hybrid. i could pay 5k more and get ecoboost 4x4 option and spend extra
$2,604 in fuel per 100k.
I assumed cost per gallon in $3.50. Driving hybrid 100k miles will cost $8,333 on EB 100k $10,937. Depending how and where you drive what are your calculations? Why would you choose EB vs Hybrid or Hybrid vs EB? Thank you!

If you drive by Waxahachie, stop by I would love to see a hybrid before I buy one LOLI filled up for $2.34/gal yesterday near the house suburban Houston area. Saw it for a dime cheaper on the way to Dallas.
I don't make major purchases with the fluctuations of commodity costs being the main driver. Buying a hybrid mainly because fuel is current more expensive isn't a great idea. Nothing wrong with a hybrid, but if it's not the choice to make at $2.50/ gallon probably not the choice to make at $4.50/gallon.
Happy to swing by sometime... But I don't have mine yet and when it comes it'll be an EB.If you drive by Waxahachie, stop by I would love to see a hybrid before I buy one LOL
Probably like racing slicks. How bad are XL stock tires on the snow/ice? anyone has real snow/ice experience ?
I set up a full set of winter tires for my XLT, FWD ecoboost a few weeks ago. Now that winter has hit full on, my experience is that these are a massive improvement over the stock tires. Not a little better...but fully transfomational. I always prefer a well set up FWD car to a AWD car in modest amounts of snow (8" or less), but this really changes the game.snow tires will not help where i live. it is too much uphill for snow tires. i tried on different car.
My agent said his customer with a damaged Mav hybrid was told no telling when parts are available. After waiting 8 months already. What did the insurance co do? Cut off his rental car after 30 days and said he is in his own. Refused to total it. But, didn’t give him higher rates for the hybrid.Costs more to fix
Hmmmmm! I live near Austin TX, am retired. Thinking I will forgo snow tires and hibernate the 4-12 snow/icy days each winterBlizzak. What did people do before when all cars were rear wheel drive? They got snow tires.
Go get snow tires, dude.
I'm in a hilly area south of Buffalo NY. So far my hybrid Maverick in Blizzaks is doing great in the snow!snow tires will not help where i live. it is too much uphill for snow tires. i tried on different car.
I had to two my son's 92 mustang home one time ~ 120 miles and I just unbolted the drive shaft. Are you all sure about the 4-wheel RV tow? The guide specifically states that 4-wheel is not an option and only FWD can be dolly towed.

The ONLY Maverick that can be flat towed ( all four wheels on the ground for extended mileage) is the Hybrid. Very clearly stated in the owners manual ( including the 2023 version ) and in the chart listed above. The "1,2,3" listed is about the process you have to go through in the menu to ready it for flat/rv towing. The front wheel drive Ecoboost Maverick CANNOT be flat towed, 8 speed automatic transmission won't allow it.Are you all sure about the 4-wheel RV tow?
