If they can keep that up it would mean 120K for the model year.

I think 10k is pretty optimistic... not saying they can't but they only had one month at 10k(maybe 2 including march) this year. Oct and Nov were both in the 6.5k range. Just have to wait and see.

Yes, but I have heard multiple news stories about the automotive chip shortage easing up. All last year the LUX models were constrained due to their higher chip content. But based upon this years orders and Ford's announcements, the LUX packages are not constrained at all.

Last week dealer said "previewing"
Monday chat said "processing and scheduled week of Feb 20 no VIN"
That didn't seem right so I tried chat again on wed and they said "processing no date other than next scheduled week"
Thought just for giggles id try a phone call. "Will be delivered to dealer Feb 20 and dealer has my VIN"
Sent an email to my dealer but haven't heard back yet.

120k would also assume 12 full production months, which I suspect is highly unlikely. They didn't start MY23 production until late November, and last year they originally planned for MY22 production to end in mid-September. With the shutdown around Christmas, it's likely they will not produce 10k of MY23 Mavericks for Nov & December combined. Even at 10k per month for all of Jan-Sep, they'll still be lucky to break 100k for the MY23 production year.

I am still holding my dealer's hand... I had to help him switch to 2023, then he didn't put my email in so I could get notices from Ford. Fount out today he didn't add co-pilot360 assist...

Ugh, Dealers... I really hope we can get to the point where dealers are only places to pick up the truck we ordered on-line and service as needed.

I submitted my order to Ford on the first day available in Sept. got my only email and confirmation from Ford on the 16th. Nothing since then. ‘23 Lariat Hybrid lux … On the bright side, found a ‘22 demo Lariat with 4k miles, blue , turbo AWD .. My dealer said WHEN my ‘23 comes in, he will do a straight swap for my current ride, so, I’m lucky enough..

I realize automotive companies generally like to do a model year changeover in July/August September. But we are in different times now.

The main reason they cut off production early is because they know the new model year will sell much better than the previous year model and they don't want leftovers sitting around unsold on dealer lots. But that will not be an issue with the Mavericks. They have already sold or can easily sell every one they can make so there is not as much incentive to start producing the new model year.

With how badly the 22 to 23 rollover has gone you would think they would try and avoid it next year and run longer if needed.

The wild card is how many changes they will make for MY24 and how long the plant needs to be down to make these changes. If make major change like coming out with a PHEV then they will probably need plant downtime, unlike this year.

11/15/21 order hybrid XLT bare bones. Had vin in September 22, bumped 4 times to December 22. Canceled. Resubmitted for 23.

No email. Contacted Ford Chat a few days ago to check status. Asked for my name and dealer since I didn't have a new vin. Same order code.

Ford chat told me I have a January 23 build week but didn't give me more info before disconnecting quickly. They said contact the dealer and use the online tracker with a VIN.

Maverick customers are treated like second class citizens! Many new orders placed before rollovers. haha. Wouldn't be as bad if they communicated.

Fair enough. I still think they'll revert to switching over to the new model year production in early Fall. Hopefully both of us have received our MY23s by then!

At this time, FMC has never had more orders to choose from, meaning there are plenty to choose from that fall within their build constraint limitations.

Also at this time, dealers are flush with allocations.

As time goes on, the pool of orders will shrink, and more constraint conflicts could arise, and could be more occasions where FMC could make truck xyz, but dealer holding the order does not have allocations.

At this point Ford will make as many as they possibly can and if nothing else they can make some random configuration with the parts they happen to have that day to send to a dealers lot.

One option is they drag MY23 out but then just don't take hybrid orders for MY24 if you didn't have an existing MY23 order that wasn't fulfilled. That way the only orders they get are either EB or the hybrid they already have now and can finish those up. That way when they open the floodgates for what will likely be a refresh with MY25, they have a clean slate and can transition during the summer.
