I think the real risk to Ford’s potential and existing customer base for the Ford Maverick and other Ford products is Toyota and its Tacoma pickup which will be brought out as a hybrid and eventually a plug-in hybrid. No doubt a Tacoma hybrid would be much pricier than a Maverick hybrid, but Ford’s custs/potential custs may be willing to pay a lot more for perceived quality from Toyota and the fact that the Tacoma is a bigger truck (but not too much bigger).

Ford’s CEO needs to stand in front of a Ford Maverick and promise he will fix production problems with the supply chain of the Mav hybrid AND recommit Ford to hybrids. He also needs to figure out how to make money from hybrids.

Toyota is still betting on hybrids. Ford, using Toyota hybrid technology, should make the same bet. And Ford should get to plug-in hybrids asap. (Ford has experience with plug-in hybrids — Ford CMax for example.)

Finally, Ford should not think it has lots of time to address its Maverick problems and recommit to hybrids. No doubt GM and Ram will be slow to come out with a Mav competitor, BUT Toyota will not be slow.

These are my thoughts and I’m sticking to them.
If Toyota comes out with a new Tacoma that is as efficient and comfortable then I am going to trade in the Maverick if they ever make my order. Or if Toyota somehow comes out with a new tacoma before I get the maverick I am dumping my order. Ford has absolutely destroyed my goodwill towards them lately with the maverick and their dealers.

Well they are calling it a Stout, They make is sound like it is right around the corner but i believe that is just a marketing ploy. I would be surprised if it came out in 2024, more likely a 2025 YM.

Have you seen the spy photo of the plug in hybrid Maverick driving around Dearborn. So there is hope

I am a cancelled Hybrid XLT 2022 rollover that was skipped over last week :( I was trying to get an estimate on how many others might be in my situation....

Is anyone else a 2022 rollerover at Priority #2 that DID NOT get an email, build date, Ford chat confirmation about scheduling?
Same here

Ford "Sold" every single Maverick they could possibly produce in 2023 in less than a week.

Why would they improve anything? The short term solution is to raise prices until demand = supply. No one in corporate America considers long term customer loyalty anymore.

1. What I got out of his statement for the hitch was related to aftermarket hitches and the issues with the wiring they've encountered. He even backpedaled on his "#ditch the hitch" campaign.
3. NSP = Not Scheduled for Production
There was discussion of "the trouble with the hitch" with dealership having trouble with hitch wiring when added at dealer. Needed wiring was not present from factory. Adding wiring resulted in error codes. The only aftermarket wiring solution was Curt which would not be warranty by Ford.

Yes, I know there are more wiring choices than Curt. And aftermarket hitch and wiring have successfully been installed by others many times.

Bottom line, I'm thankful I have the hitch on my Maverick order.

It’s crazy that my order from 2021 the day after the maverick was announced I order mine. Now to this day still haven’t got my hybrid. I talked to ford yesterday’s to find out my truck (vin) was canceled but never got an email and now I will get a 2023 model but no email again. So at this point not even my dealer doesn’t know what’s going to happen

My cancelled MY22 to MY23 rollover is a priority #2 (according to Ford Chat) and I have no build date yet.
XLT Hybrid with no added options.
