I used to get the deep sleep mode intermittently from February through March. The truck would start fine, and I thought maybe it was the dash cam with parking mode that was draining the battery. So I disabled the parking mode and stopped getting the deep sleep notifications. It's been working fine until yesterday when the truck had zero power like others have experienced on this forum.

Jump started it, took it immediately to the dealership, and on the way there I got a check engine light with the message "The powertrain control module has detected the power relay de-energized earlier than expected." The truck was running purely on HEV mode, no combustion engine at all. Technician checked the battery and it was in excellent condition, so he suspects that it's the known electrical issue that HEV Mavericks have. But I probably won't get my truck back for 2 weeks :(
My power went out about a month ago. The vehicle ended up getting towed to a dealership who replaced a 12V battery lead. This past Friday, July 22nd, I was without power again. I learned how to jump the vehicle from the post under the hood. Drove directly to the dealership. Turned off the ignition and it was dead again. Dealership hadn't looked at it yesterday when I called. Just received a notification on my phone indicating, "The powertrain control module has detected the power relay de-energized earlier than expected." Looks like the dealership may be discovering the issue? White Lux Hybrid ordered June 8th and delivered January 8th. Just hit 4,000 miles before this happened.

"The powertrain control module has detected the power relay de-energized earlier than expected." is in essence saying that the 12v battery level is too low (probably <3v) to maintain relay contact and/or activate the relay at start up so that the High Voltage Battery (HBV) can power the traction of the vehicle at startup."

The Maverick Hybrid is still not keeping the 12 Volt Battery properly charged.

In three days and many long trips the 12 Volt battery had discharged from 100% and 12.81 volts (after I had manually re-charging it) down to 36% and 12.31 volts.

@Ford Motor Company is there a fix for this problem?

I again manually re-charging it for about an hour but had to stop because I needed the truck for a trip.

I got it to 94% charge and 12.74 volts.

3 days later on 5-31-22.JPG

Recharged about 1 hour on 6-1-22.JPG
I believe the battery is lead acid deep discharge. If so shouldn't 12.16 read over 50% and 50% should be just under 12.1? And 100% should be close to 12.85v. Is your charger correct one for deep cycle and will not overcharge it?? Just a thought hope it helps. Perhaps it might help if the "new battery install" procedure was followed??

Edit
12v battery information is pages 310-313. Nite battery sensor reset on page 311 as well as battery management system page 312 be sure to read the paragraph that states the battery management system requires 8 uninterrupted hours sleep time to relearn the state of charge of the battery. This implies that if not done the BMS may not properly recharge the battery !!! Somewhere it also said to turn of all things that come on when the start button pushed/ key turned. Particularly that the head lights could be blown. Also info on battery page 355-356.

after charging battery be sure to follow procedures listed in last post above. I left my battery charger on good and long and that confused the charging system( it would drop charging after a few minutes)

My Maverick hybrid has the same no crank No start no gauges problem. It has stranded me a few times. Ford on the Island cannot figure out the problem yet So I am without a vehicle and they will not give me a rental free. I am trying to get ford to come get this truck so They can look at it again. they had it for 2 days last week and said that they could not find a problem.? I drove it for a few days and no this morning it is dead again. no time to check it out as i had 10 roofers at my other home on the other side of the island that i had to go see today. i will hook it up to charger tomorrow am and see if the battery is low again?

From my "Dead" Maverick experience, you are going to need a service center with free loaners. Maverick replacement parts are non-existent, so expect long service delays. I posted the details of my electrical harness replacement earlier, approximately 2 months in the shop. I am once again without my Maverick due to the Fuel Vapor Recall Repair. While performing the "simple" repair, my dealer broke a part on the radiator shutter system and I have been in a loaner for 2 moths. Once the shutters are repaired, I get to take it back for the Side Curtain Airbag Recall Repair in January, 2023.

I posted the response below in a related thread ... regardless of how the 12v factory is testing, I would ask for a 12v battery warranty replacement ... a battery with a single bad cell may consistently test well but will still periodically crap out.

The message: "The powertrain control module has detected the power relay de-energized earlier than expected." is in essence saying that the 12v battery level is too low (probably <3v) to maintain relay contact and/or activate the relay so that the HEV can power the traction of the vehicle at startup.

Another potential single point of failure is the relay itself.

------------------------------------------

Did you get a "Deep Sleep" message (through the "FordPass" app)?

Two days after taking delivery, I experienced the same condition you're describing after I got the dreaded "Deep Sleep" message.

I put the 12v battery on a drip charger (twice) for 48 Hrs and it would read 14+ volts after charging but it would be totally depleted (reading <3v) after one start. After I got tired of doing this, I used a boost pack to get the vehicle rolling and took it to the dealer. As I drove to the dealer I could see (through a cigarette lighter adapter battery readout) the 12V battery losing charge.

I told the dealer that when I got the vehicle back, I would drive the vehicle around the dealer property and every ten minutes I would stop and start the vehicle to make sure he problem was solved ... they immediately told me they would replace the 12v battery under warranty.

They replaced the (Made in Mexico/ Ford branded) battery with a (Made in Mexico/ "Motorcraft" branded) battery.

To my surprise, the 12v replacement battery is only 470 CCA ... don't know the CCA of the original 12v factory battery.
It's the wiring harness issue, Someone posted a video showing how to fix the problem most dealers worth their salt are fixing the problem while waiting for a new wiring harness

Talk about a crappy situation. Hope you get it back soon! Crazy to think you spend all this money on a new product just to be waiting for it to come and then without it for even longer while it depreciates too.
