That's not true at all... If you live in a mild climate, and never tow, but have a couple of home improvement projects going and you want a Home Depot / Lowes run-about, then why not own a 40mpg vehicle, that happens to be cheaper by several grand (and realize about $5k in fuel savings ?

(disclosure, I want the EcoBoost, AWD, and 4K towing, but that's because I have a pop up camper and a utility trailer and do a ton of driving at high elevations. most folks who own trucks never do the stuff that I do.. I do it with my absolutely gutless 2wd 4cyl Frontier... hybrid might even be an improvement for me.... So, most need a light duty small hauler... I mean you ever see anyone stick a washing machine in an F250 4x4?... that's a work out.... Mav Hybrid is a much better truck for that purpose...).

Actually, I noticed the Honda CR-V Hybrid is AWD for 2023... If I was looking to replace my wife's 12 year old CRV, instead of my 16 year old Frontier, it would be tough to ignore.... Take a look at what you get for $32K for it....better equipped than a Mav XLT AWD EB 4K... (but won't be that light duty truck that I need).
CRV hybrid starts at $34k now, $35k + for awd. Not much of a bargain anymore.

Honestly, I'm getting an EcoBoost FWD mostly because I need to replace a worn- out Jeep and 30 MPG is better than 16 MPG. Hybrid would've been nice, but I'd rather get mine sooner than later.

So I got an XL with zero constraints barring the global XL one (and I think that shouldn't be too big of an issue given what I've seen from poll data here).

From this morning, via the site.. I did it for comparison when someone suggested a Honda BR-V based Maverick competitor.... becuase I wanted to see if Honda had offered AWD on their hybrid platform this year as rumored..

Anyway, getting off track.... but just wanted to illustrate that a well equipped Maverick starts approaching Honda Territory.. But like the Maverick Hybrid... none in stock here in Southern Arizona... so really it's academic.... but perhaps you can order one?
It came out a couple weeks ago that there was a pretty sizable increase from '22 to '23

"The 2023 Honda CR-V price starts at $32,335. This price includes the destination fee, and the 2022 model begins at $28,045. So, that’s roughly a $4,000 increase."

Probably on a container in the Pacific ocean. There is something I ordered from an online shop that took over three months to arrive and most of that time was waiting on the port to process it.
Or maybe the container(s) that fell into the ocean?

Not fair to people that had to reorder since they didn't build their MY2022 truck.
That would be me… all I ever got was my order confirmation, then 2 emails about my 22 my order not being built… we ordered an EB XLT with only the trailer hitch, nothing else, only because we missed ordering the hybrid by 10 days. So now we wait for a 23 hybrid XLT with trailer hitch, nothing else added. So seeing it looks like the 22 isn’t going to happen, do we have any hopes of the 23??? Who knows…

If very few hybrids are going to be scheduled will Ford allow us to switch to Ecoboost? I read somewhere that they weren't allowing an engine switch on orders. I want a hybrid but I need a vehicle. I wish Ford was more transparent with delivery timing. My salesman says he doesn't know any more than I do and claims I can't change engines on my 23 order.
The Ford Video Guy (Tim Bartz) said Ford was not going to allow switching engines. You coiuld probably switch trims, but you would move to the back of the line. The only reason I can think of to not allow someone to switch to an eco is to benefit the dealers. If Ford sticks to their pre-planned % of Mavs, I believe dealers will receive some stock orders of ecos because there could be some ecos left over there were not special ordered. Just a guess on my part. You would think it would not be a problem to switch to an eco, so there must be a reason.

I would think all the rollovers would have a much better chance of getting a hybrid. Might be a little more difficult if you didn't order on the first day or have constained items. I was number 37 at my dealer which is pretty good, but I am a new hybrid order with a priority 11. I'm not holding my breath.

I missed that.... I also had a brain fart... didn't even pay attention to 2022 model photo..(which is why none are in stock).... thought I was building a 2023 (again, just didn't pay attention that the photo was not the nexgen CRV). I hadn't realized the Hybrid AWD made it into the 2022 model lineup as part of the last gen model (must have been a good way to introduce it and work out bugs)! Wow.
Did my research and AWD Hybrid was removed from the EX lineup.... So, you have to buy into a higher end model to get it, hence the substantial increase... I guess if you could find a 2022 CRV EX Hybrid AWD leftover, that would be the way to go.

Will be interesting to see what path forward takes with Maverick Hybrids for MY2024.... Just overwhelmingly popular! Imagine having to buy into a Lariat to get AWD Hybrid....
I don't know about your preference but my backup plan to the maverick is the sportage lx hybrid awd in the 31-32k range and the dealers have said it wouldn't take more than a couple months to deliver. What good is a plan without a contingency?

you musta thought this was opposite day? There is NO reason to choose hybrid over the ECO AWD with 250HP & 4k tow. May as well get a Prius :ROFLMAO:
Is there a Prius with a truck bed? If I wanted 4k towing and 250HP, I would have bought a Ranger or F-150.

Well, I would like to replace my 2006 Nissan Frontier XE Extended Cab, 4cyl, 5spd. However, my truck literally has 101k miles on it... It goes on long trips and hauling errands, but isn't used for any commuting at all, so the mileage has stayed low. My backup plan is just to drive it for a bit longer until a Maverick that I want becomes available. My wife's CRV is low mileage and in perfect shape as well, so no rush moving on from that one either...
