If very few hybrids are going to be scheduled will Ford allow us to switch to Ecoboost? I read somewhere that they weren't allowing an engine switch on orders. I want a hybrid but I need a vehicle. I wish Ford was more transparent with delivery timing. My salesman says he doesn't know any more than I do and claims I can't change engines on my 23 order.
No you can't switch engine. That could change if they really have a big issue making hybrid. We really don't know squat right now so it's all just speculation.

Ford may be focusing on EBs because they are about to get a shipment of motors to use. Or Ford's shipment of hybrid parts aren't in yet. Or it could be when Ford said 35% constraint for Hybrid, they meant it. So the fact EBs make up 35% of orders means they are simply easier to schedule.

Since we will never know the truth, it's just speculation. Once the VINs start rolling out, we may have a better idea of what Ford's selection criteria is.

Could be that they want to fulfill the EB orders, and will then see if people want to switch. I think that would be somewhat fair.

Hybrid or bust. If I have to pick EB, I might as well get another truck.

I really wonder about why the splash guards in particular is such a constraint. It's just molded plastic. Is it that hard to subcontract out?
If it was really important to them they could just get them off Amazon. 🤣 They at least claim to be OEM for MY 22 which I'm guessing is the same.

All joking aside, the better question might be why people aren't just ordering without the mud flaps and installing them themselves. I thought they were supposed to be a pretty easy install.

Atleast it's a start. Hopefully they're not just playing with our emotions..
Yeah it Is a start at least. Better than nothing unless you ordered a Maverick Hybrid at this point

Exciting for the 2023 orders, at least until the next update or a contrary post. This is more fun than waiting endlessly on hold on a product help phone call (pick your product/service) only to get to a person who cannot answer your question.

At this point, I agree. If I switch my Lariat to EB with the included AWD that adds an additional $2200. Still cheaper than the competition but not much.

Less expensive is less expensive. Back seat is still roomier than a Ranger. And it still solves all the reasons I need a truck: bed storage and small trailer towing. I chose EB when I placed my order, but I was on the Hybrid train until very late in the decision making process.
