Bed rack that works with hard folding tonneau?

I'm kind of regretting ordering the hard folding tonneau cover, I need a rack system on the bed so I can but a clamshell for ski's on it. They just are not out there in a low profile that will work with the tonneau cover. Anyone know of a solution?

Apparently you can put Elevate TS rails under some tonneau covers, but not sure if Ford hard folding is one of them.

Best integrated solution I’ve seen so far is Retrax XR, if you are happy with having the retraction canister in the bed. Pricey, but nice. There is a great picture from an owner in the “Which tonneau cover do you prefer?” thread.

Elevate TS Rails compatibility depends on how your tonneau rails attach to the bed- if the tonneau rails mount along the inside of the bed you're good, if they sit on top of the bed it will not work.

Yes - it also works with roll-ups. See compatibility guide. This one is from early this year and there may be updated version available.

The rails have always been the cheap part; the rack is the kicker! Nigh on $700 for the Elevate Rack.

Here is another shot of how the rails attach with an existing tonneau, assuming that the tonneau fits on the inside of the bed. You have to remove the tonneau rails, put the TS rails in place, and then clamp the tonneau rails back in place essentially pinning the TS rail down.

If you don't mind, what is the width, side to side, of the TS rails tracks? Looking at various Yakima and Thule crossbars, wondering what the span needs to be.

I took a quick measurement previously because I'm looking into the same thing. It's about 57 ¾" side to side so depending on the type of tower you'd use you're looking at a 58" crossbar minimum. I am still considering going as large as 68" crossbars to avoid any conflict.

And if I'm not mistaken, you can usually cut crossbars down to your preferred size -- most bar types come end caps that are not permanently attached.

Does the 3rd fold (upright against cab window) clear the front rack when in the lower position? I just installed my MX4 with these racks, and the MX4 can't completely fold open... it's about an inch too tall.
