Several posts refer to dealers and their ability to change priority codes. It is my understanding that dealers have nothing to do with this. That is administered by the Regional area within those dealerships. The Region looks at all the orders and finds the ones they can send on to build and then that code reflects that decision. If your code was 19 and goes to 10, it wasn't done magically by the dealer. The Regional office is saying, looks like we have enough stuff to build this one. Ask your dealer about what region they are in. Boom

Not correct. The dealers set the priority codes for 10 and above. The region assigns priority code 2 when they preview the order for production. This locks the order so changes cannot be made by dealer.

Dealers are the ones that set priority codes when placing an order - specifically for retail order - they’ll assign 10 through 19. 19 being the default and 10 being the best.

Below 19 is a stock order. Above 10 are set by the region, hq, plant, etc.

I think that is partially true. Except the region bumps it up to 2 when ready to build.

I stand corrected. Can you tell me the difference between a dealer assigned 19 or a 12. What is the advantage in the beginning?

Yep, he keeps talking about my 22 order being priority 2.. I told him it's literally not going to happen, so here is what I want on my 23... I've even emailed the inventory manager. It's insane that I will have to take steps to talk to a manager, and this is from someone who worked there for almost 10 years.. I feel bad for everyone who has no connections at their dealerships if it's this bad for me.
my original dealer kept telling me the same. Like for months that I’m at priority 2!! You’re almost there! I was just like no you’re wrong, please put in a new ‘23 order for me.

They did and also put it in at priority 10.

By default, a priority code 19 is assigned to the order when it’s created. When Ford is looking at orders for scheduling, if they see your order and an identical one but with a priority code of 18; the order with 18 would be selected first.

if there was an order with a priority code between 17 - 10, it would get preference to being scheduled before the orders withcodes 18 or 19.

tl;dr the higher (closer to 1) your priority code is, the more preference it gets by the scheduler’s compared to lower priority orders.

keep in mind, constraints play a role in this. So just because you have a higher priority code - doesn’t mean that orders with lower codes can not be scheduled first…

An order with a lower number (i.e. 10-12) will be looked at by Ford before one that is higher (i.e., 19). The lower the numbr, the better. If the Region is planning to give 5 allocations to a dealer and that dealer has 30 priority 10s, then the Region won't ever even look at the Priority 11s and up until most of the Priority 10s have been scheduled or been marked as having ongoing constraints.

In theory my order placed on 15 Sep is a COVP order (I have a COVP tracking number), but my status still says "In Order Processing".

Anyone know what the difference is between "In Order Processing" and "Unscheduled - Clean" ?
What is a COVP tracking number?

Robert Horne Ford has been great to work with. They are not super close to Green Valley, out in Apache Junction, but talk to Jana - Internet Sales Manager, she is great to work with, tell her Nelson sent you. Good luck!
Well we tried.... They too had 'mandatory dealer add-ons' that were $1500, non-negotiable. And that one was at the wire... So, I passed on them quickly....With the way the systems were, they didn't think they could even get it keyed in... and there were others ahead of me.

Finally, at the very last minute, one dealership in AZ wasn't going to force me to take any adders at all... I had everything for them down to codes and prices, but the system crawled and they were having trouble getting the last of their orders in before bank close today... so mine couldn't go in at all and neither could a few staged before me.. They just couldn't get them in for us. Someone used a Concert/TicketMaster/Scalpers/Sellout illustration, and that's just how it was today. Frustrating, just couldnt' get it done with 4 business days and 3 dealerships, the first two with those big adders that were such a turnoff.

So... See you all for MY2024. Hopefully there will be more time to plan and find a good dealership next year.

<edited because I realized the original post was so poorly written that it was hard to understand what actually transpired.. LOL!! >

That's terrible that you had to jump through hoops to get nothing in the end, but to be fair, it sounds like a lot of us on here aren't going to get anything this year either! I bet next year has better options too, I'm actually hoping my order rolls to 2024, and by then they have hybrid AWD and Eruption Green as options.

As is mentioned many times here, the difference between a 10 and 19 only matters with orders at the same dealership. The region picks a dealer based on allotment, then looks at orders within that dealer for builds that can be scheduled and then picks the highest priority at that dealer. If a dealer puts all their orders in at a priority 19, they will all have equal chance and may get built before a priority 10 at another dealership that didn't get the allotment.

Don’t feel bad. I got my order in and received the confirmation email from Ford only to find out that I may not get mine built because my dealer didn’t have enough allocations.

No, they won't stop them but recommend not to take more than their allocation would allow. The problem is that Ford can't give the dealers that number. When they told us to watch how many orders we are placing, we ask for our number and they couldn't tell us. We based our orders on our 2022 sales plus the vehicles that are in production and allowed for ramped up production for 2023 since 2022 was a startup year.
Tim, I have an order though LM, and am curious about your response, I watch your live streams and recall you said that LM delivered something around 9 Mavs per week on average, that is well under 500 units. You also stated that LM has over 700 orders submitted, do you really believe that LM will receive that number of allocations? I see many of your customers not receiving a MY23 Mav as a result. Thoughts?
