After 4 pages of debate, I suggest to those who can’t imagine someone installing a rear seat delete kit like the OP is looking for, do an internet search for “rear seat delete” and take a peek at what comes up. No… there’s none for a maverick but companies sell them and most are for cars! As has been said, the maverick begs to be modded!

Rear seat delete = how to kill your resale for $1000, Alex
I don't live my life worrying about what I can sell something for in 1 yr or 20 yrs from now. If it fits my needs or makes me happy now, who cares about resale.

The OP said " Does anyone else think if Ford did a rear seat delete with a secure storage toolbox instead of a bench seat people would buy it? "
An interior secure storage box would not require the bed to be any longer. Remove the seat and install whatever secure storage you want.
Yes, but I was mentioning a regular cab, not a 2 seater crew cab.

I would buy a rear seat delete in a second. Don’t need them, don’t want them, and the delete would serve my passengers (my dogs) a lot better.
Easy to just delete it yourself. Save them, because the next owner would probably want it.

So I have a 2006 Ford ranger XLT four-wheel drive and the access cab has been great for me instead of a crew cab just a two cab. Does anyone else think if Ford did a rear seat delete with a secure storage toolbox instead of a bench seat people would buy it?
Having worked in a job where driving and carrying expensive tools is the norm I think this is a great idea! It would be really good for campus settings where maintenance people have to service various buildings. Colleges would buy this.

Sounds like a real niche thing that Ford wouldn't be interested in but I can see an aftermarket kit or a shop project. What I could go for is a Super Cab and a 6' bed.

I call BS on the standard narrative that not enough people want an inexpensive single cab or extended cab small trucks. This narrative has been pushed by the industry for ages now. But the point is that nobody has offered a truly small and inexpensive single-cab pickup truck since 2011. Remember, an early Toyota truck was 3 feet shorter than the Maverick and had a longer bed.

I'll remind everyone that the standard Ford narrative for the last decade has been that nobody wants small trucks. I clearly remember Ford execs arrogantly telling the assembled media in 2011 that all those Ranger owners could buy F150s. When we didn't do that they released the midsize Ranger and then they told the media we would buy the new Ranger. That narrative also turned out to be a giant stinking pile of horse shit. And finally they released the Maverick like they had a stroke of brilliant insight.

I'll stick with the evidence of my eyes, thank you very much. I'm passed by dozens of old single cab Rangers every day in my area. Those guys won't let them go. I'm letting my single cab go under protest (and only because I need AWD).
And yet after the Ranger was discontinued in 2011 Ford did sell more F150's the following years. 2011 F series total sales were 584,917, total sales in 2012 were 692,589 and 2013 764,402. By 2016 total F series sales were 820,799. So I would say there's no doubt that some of those potential buyers did instead go for an F150. They finally released the new Ranger and Maverick to attempt to capture even more sales because they believed there would be a market for those. And honestly the Ranger hasn't exactly been a hot seller since it came back in 2019. It' averages about 100K units per year which you could say is decent but for truck sales in the United States that's not much to brag about.

Have you noticed that a vast majority of full size trucks are now crew cabs? This isn't the 1980's or even 1990's anymore. Even trucks used for business are heavy on extended cab & crew cabs. Why do you think Honda only bothers to sell one cab variant of the Ridgeline? Ford is a huge corporation with extensive marketing research and they have a pretty good idea of what sells and what consumer tastes are at every moment. If they're making more crew cabs in their full size trucks it's because that's what consumers are demanding. Car internet forums aren't the best place to gauge consumer tastes because it's a small minority of enthusiasts.

One thing to consider is that Ford has stopped selling sedans. The Maverick for all intents and purposes is the new family sedan. A rear seat delete would make it a Mustang with an open trunk.

I would put the Escape in the slot. A Maverick with no rear seat would be useful for fleet vehicles, but I don't know how much that messes up the flow of Ford's production plant.

Wish Ford would just cave on this issue. You seat delete guy make so many posts, day after day week after week.
I shared on yet another thread how easy and clean someone posted months ago a deleted seat with a cut to fit plywood base.
It’s well in the ballpark for avg Joe to remove a few pieces and replace with homemade base.

I was looking at videos of the 2012 Ford Escape rear seat. I wonder if they could be installed in a Maverick? The seat bottoms fold forward when you pull the strap like on the Maverick. There is a bracket that bolts to the floor and the 2 seat bottoms slide into it. The latch would have to be mounted to secure the seat bottom down. May not have to change Maverick seat back unless you wanted split rear fold down option. Just a thought. Any opinions would be appreciated. Maybe someone who owns a Escape can verify the dimensions as a possible fit. Don't know when I will get my Maverick but I am already thinking of rear seat options.

But if Ford would offer that option, they would be the ONLY manufacture that had a small 2 Door truck and they would capture All of it. Just something to think about.

Before I discovered the Maverick my plan was to buy an access cab Tacoma with the rear seat delete. If I remember correctly it knocked like $1,700 off the price. Went with the Maverick instead due to the cost and fuel mileage. If Ford knocked a couple grand off the price to delete the rear seats, belts, speakers, etc. I would have been all over that. If they offered an extended cab or single cab with a longer bed, even better. As it is, I'll take what I can get which since I still ordered one I'm sure Ford is well aware of that.
