I've been following the board and just joined. I visited my local dealer this morning, Causeway Ford, Manahawkin, NJ to place an order for a 2023 Maverick. Process went ok, until I was told I would have to pay a $2500 markup. Anyone else seeing a markup??
Lol

I just heard back from my local FL dealer (don't want to throw them under the bus), but no NEW orders are to go in yet. I'm on their list and was anticipating my 23 order going in soon. Ford has explicitly instructed them to only work with existing customers who did not recieve a 22 at this time. I have no idea how many 22s they had go unfulfilled and it sounds like plenty of other dealers are placing brand new 23 orders today without issue or hesitation. First time I've heard it from anyone other than Granger Ford and my understanding was that Granger Ford was electing to do this on their own. My dealer is saying FORD told them no new orders at this time, only existing customers. It is what it is I guess, I know Ford doesn't truly build them in order so I'm not worried. Maybe next week they will change tune.

I think it is only fair if Ford rolls over 2022 orders that are not fulfilled before new 2023 orders are created....but I will believe it when I see it.

Yeah, like I said, my dealer claims they were instructed by Ford to honor existing 22 orders and not submit brand new 23 orders at this time. Doesn't seem like other dealers are doing this though and there's no way for Ford to really enforce it either.

If that's a Ford requirement then either my local dealer didn't have very many 22 orders, or they just don't care.

I stopped in last night to get the details worked out, then it was input this morning and I received the confirmation email from Ford.

Yeah I was shocked to get that response back this morning, my dealer says they could technically put in 23 orders, it will physically let them, they are just choosing not to as they were instructed by Ford to get all 22 orders placed again as 23 models and wait for further instruction on when they should place new 23 orders. They had no idea if it would be days or weeks, but they were adamant about following as instructed.

Harry, I live in Manchester and I know Larson Ford in Brick/Lakewood charged MSRP for 2022 and will for 2023. They have a specific guy, Robert Barranger, who handles Mavericks. Has been pretty good about keeping in touch with me regarding my 2022 order. No pressure to get expensive options and models. Mine is a base hybrid XL with only a drop-in bedliner. He doesn’t work Fridays, but does all other days except Sunday. You might want to give Larson a call. Their phone is 732-363-8100.

Just got back from my dealer, I was sitting in the parking lot 10 minutes before they opened. Bellingham Ford Lincoln in Bellingham, WA. Salesman was not in, but the sales manager said he could help. I asked why my order had not been placed yesterday and he said the order banks for '23s never opened, he tried until 5pm when he went home. I was probably a little testy and told him they had opened at 1:30 pacific.

He tried while I watched, and it was working so he entered my order and printed off a confirmation to sign. MSRP, no required add-ons, I asked. He said "no add-ons and MSRP, do you want me to write that on the order and sign it?" I asked if he needed a deposit and he said, "no you are good to go. Should get an email from Ford in a few minutes" , which I did.

He showed me the screen and I was the first order entered for a '23 Maverick. They had maybe 8 left from '22 and I think all had codes of either '01' or '02'. He said they had stacks of orders to enter but could not do it yesterday because the order website would not let him. He said it was a good thing I came in as I am first on their list. Not that that will make any difference, LOL.

Anyway, a great experience at Bellingham Ford. I was expecting an argument and got really good customer service. I feel really good about selecting them as my dealer.

No joy on my end. My dealer is going nuts but says the system is just not working. I even volunteered to drive over to the dealership and keep pushing that damned "SUBMIT" button over and over again for as long as it takes. He laughed. I told him I was not joking. We shall see.

WBDO is still acting really strange.....

At our dealership, we can now submit XLT orders....but not XL orders. o_O

Thanx for that input. Appreciated. The thing I keep telling myself, to help me keep my sanity, is the fact that first order in the door does not necessarily translate to the first order out the door. :ROFLMAO: We shall all get there I suppose in due time.

Yeah I don't understand the need to be first. It didn't help in MY22 and I don't have any reason to expect it to help in MY23. We have people who ordered in January of this year driving their trucks and people who ordered in September of last year rushing to be first to enter their rollover.

It really does not matter. Just get the order in before they close down the banks.

There are some orders that I have tried submitting 50 times now....

I contacted someone at WBDO....they said, just keep trying!

I'm not in the business as you are, but this just does not seem right. Nor does it bode well either. It is almost like the whole system is set up for failure.
