Wait, what? the Hybrid models are $435 less than the EB, but they get $1000 more on the private offer than the EB??? Ford math ;)
Well.....you know they were having trouble selling the Hybrids. Nobody was ordering them. So they have to incentivize the Hybrids!

Sigh..........

How so? If it were $22,745 it's still cheaper than the cheapest Hyundai Santa Cruz available (which is not a hybrid). It's still cheaper than almost any other hybrid vehicle available anywhere. A Toyota Corolla Hybrid starts at $24,000, Hyundai Elantra Hybrid $24,400.

I'd still buy it again at $25-26k, no questions.
Don't get me wrong, I still think it's a good deal and my reasoning probably seems faulty to some and admittedly I probably contradict myself if I were to think about it real hard.

My thing is that I am hoping for something slightly bigger. A lot of what I want is comfort in the second row as I will likely have people back there for a few hours a week. I also want to get over 30 MPG every tank as I driver about 22k miles a year. My perfect version of a small truck would be very similar to the Maverick Hybrid except have another 2-3 inches of rear legroom (it already beats or meets others including ridgeline) and a little larger bed. No I don't have any specific thing I'm going to do with it, but that's what I want. So in the aspect of what I 'want' the Maverick is a slight compromise that is lessened by the really low price - I can move my seat up when others are behind me, etc.

I would be looking at an XLT since I use cruise control to much to not have it. (if they put CC as an option on the XL, I would seriously consider it as I normally always buy a base model) so I'm looking at $26K+ any options that I might do (spray in bed liner, probably the receiver, etc). I plan on placing an order in a month or two so that hopefully it would not be ready until late summer of next year since that will be the time I am hoping to replace my Rogue. It should have about 205-210K miles by then.

I am hoping by then we will know more about the new Ranger (however it sounds like the cab is unchanged so it will be out of the running for that reason) and the new Tacoma that will hopefully have a MPG focused version. Will they be more expensive yes, am I willing to pay $5-10K more for what I 'want'....yes.....will they be more what I 'want' vs the Maverick.... that remains to be seen. Yes.... I know weird logic.

Thanks for the 10K mile update video. I had to share the last couple of minutes with someone the other day because they were complaining the Maverick wasn't a truck. ;)

It’s still the only game in town, they know that. Can always use incentives later, might as well capitalize on what they have now.
I totally think it's still a good deal.... it just loses some of it's appeal to me the higher it gets. To closer in price it gets to the mid sizers the more likely I would be willing to make the jump.... provided they had what I want.

Thank you so much for all the detailed info you provide here!

It is absolutely stunning to me that the order banks open in two days and Ford has not yet informed the dealers on how the process will work. I'm not sure if it's some misguided secret squirrel "OMG don't let Ford competitors know what we're doing!" nonsense or just utter project management incompetence, but it sure is frustrating for consumers (and dealerships as well, I'm sure!).
Heres one vote for incompetence. ;)

If the private offer has some sort of clues about the 23 price - and the hybrid will come it 1K more than the Eco, that's going to make it a lot tougher to order the hybrid for me.

I think some people have unrealistic expectations which will cause them to be disappointed.

1) If Ford did not have the constrained parts to build your Maverik as a 22 in November then the parts will not magically appear in December so they can build it as a 23 even if you have priority.

2) Expecting to be able to get a 23 when it arrives in the winter of 23 at the same net price that you ordered a 22 for in the summer or fall of 21 is not realistic. The problem is with inflation running over 8% the cumulative inflation will be at least 10% by next winter. The cost to manufacture the Maverick may have gone up by even more because of the chip and labor shortages. To sell a 23 at the original 22 price from 2021 could require Ford to sell it to you at below their cost. That is not a reasonable expectation especially when Mavericks can be sold at well above MSRP. Even with your special offer expect to pay more for a 23 than you would have paid for a 22 and it will still likely be a very good deal for you and bad deal for Ford.

The good news is that by all indications Ford found some problems in the first year that should be fixed now so a 23 should be a better truck than a 22.

There is also a good chance that some minor things like cruise control/adaptive cruise, navigation, better infotainment, ect could be available in some 23 trim levels since those should be a fairly minor and inexpensive change to include.

When the details come out don't be surprised if there are also some pleasant surprises buried in the details.

Not to be a fanboy, but it would still be the least expensive hybrid on the market.

I am speaking more in terms of value between Hybrid vs Ecoboost.

I won't be putting a ton of miles on my vehicle, so the gas savings won't be huge. If the Hybrid ends up being 1K more than the EB, it will be a lot more tempting to go with the EB.

We'll have to see how this affects our Chapman orders. Hopefully they don't tell us we either the percent below invoice on 23MY pricing or the private offer amount and not both. If they do that, then I will probably walk away and just take my 22MY that is coming.
They'd be essentially telling you not to bother reordering through them vs a closer dealer at MSRP, unless this PCO is only valid at the original dealer.

Hybrid probably getting price increase to be about in line with the EcoBoost I figure. So two "base" engine options.

Lol, I think they are rewarding them for waiting an extra 2 months longer than Ecoboost customers or hybrid price might be going up to meet the Ecoboost price. It's hard to tell. Maybe @Ford Motor Company will provide information soon.

Since roll-overs are actually new orders, how will ford prioritize 22 order folks? Special code, or use old order number? Or something else?

I am not confident that dealerships and ford will be coordinated well.
it's just simple software stuff there's any number of ways for them to do this based on the data they already have.
