Thanks you, still waiting for my maverick so I’ll do it when it comes in. I was more surprised if that included the sound deadening material
I believe I paid less than $30 for the sound deadening material, it was like 10 feets worth and it was more than enough to do both doors.

Speakers

Deading Mat

You also might need a roller to put the mat onto the doors, I had an oddly shaped rolling pin that my wife uses for baking that I borrowed to install it.

I'm 62, worked in machine shops and an engine lab since 1980. To me, it sounds better than my 2014 C-Max SEL with the optional Sony sound system. I will say, depending on the range of hearing a person has lost, what sounds good to one might sound like garbage to another.
I listen to my music from my IPhone, maybe that helps:unsure:

Press the browse button on the screen.. Then press search. All your music will be indexed. The song list for the album and the ability to search by artist, album, genre, song title.
Okay, yeah, forgot I could do that. Now ...... another gripe is when I use the search for artist or album and the list of albums or artists is up on the screen, it won't allow me to scroll through the list while I am driving. It will let me start scrolling for a second or 2 and then some message box will pop up that says something like "Certain features are disabled for safety" or some such nonsense. Do you frickin have to be stopped just to select which album or artist you want from the menu? Any way to disable the "safety" feature? Sometimes they go too far with all this safety nonsense. I'm not an idiot. I wouldn't scroll through the menu if I was in traffic with a car directly to the left, right, or in front of me and risk an accident from distraction. But geez I'm driving down a back country road all by myself and what, I have to pull over and stop to be able to change which album I want?

Won't get any argument here, but it does allow you to look through a few albums and change tracks while on the go. There are lots of things thĂ t Ă re disabled when you are moving.

I rented a Kia Sportage a few years ago and it had a similar touch screen and I could scroll through the albums track while on the move. It's just dumb you can't do that with the Maverick. Who the heck wants to have to come to a complete stop every time you want to pick a different album?

I'm in my mid-70s and I'm quite happy with the XLT sound system. I normally use Apple Car Play through a wireless dongle. The sound seems fine with lots of bass and medium treble. Of course, being old, I don't play it much at volume 20. I find 14 to be very comfortable on the highway. I'd objectively rate the sound at least as good as from the premium sound system in my former Intifiti SUV and better than in any GM product I've ever owned, premium sound or not. I also listen to Vinyl at home through a Bose system...

Sounds ok to me too, 61 yrs old. I just wish the Bluetooth worked better for my XM radio.
I've been looking for the XM App on the truck. Not an option?

Well, I am 72 but my hearing is good and I'm an active musician going back about 60 years. As stock automotive sound systems go, I find the system in my XL better than average. Sure, it could be improved, but I don't see the point when faced with traffic noise and horrendous (non)mufflers all around you. The Escape and the Jeep Cherokee I owned before this were no better and sometimes worse.Perhaps the reduced engine and exhaust noise from the hybrid play a part in my perceptions when driving over quiet country roads.

Mind, I listen to classical and folk or singer songwriter music, not high decibel rock. The latter will certainly affect your hearing quality in the end, no matter what sound system or venue is involved.

Replace your rear speakers, tap the wires while there, install sub.
To be honest, I have enough bass and volume. Turning on the Driver Focused setting is all I need.

I believe the upgraded sound system available on the Lariat includes Sirius XM capability. All Mavs can use XM though. You have to install the app on a smartphone and connect the phone to the truck by both bluetooth and USB cable. Android Auto or Apple Carplay then can display the phone app on the console screen. I use Pandora that way and it works well.

Believe @rclee is referring to a separate XM radio device that connects to the truck via Bluetooth. It wouldn't be an app on screen, and it's not built into the truck.

Something like these:

https://shop.siriusxm.com/radios/vehicle/
I was referring to the (FREE) app that you put on your phone. As long as you have a subscription you can use the app through bluetooth. You do have to control it with your phone as the touchscreen is limited with what you can do. Very handy. Or you could use Android Auto or Apple Car Play through the USB wire. I chose Bluetooth because it will connect as soon as the car starts and I don't need a USB cable.

Ah okay, running it through your phone. What issues are you having?

If you were to use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, which would require the phone to be plugged in, you could pull up the SiriusXM app on there. Then you'd be able to switch stations from the truck's touchscreen.
