apologies for not reviewing the whole thread, but I read your latest update and that sounds pretty good.

is there a passive high pass on the front components? when you turned off the crossover on the key 200.4 surely you aren't sending 20-60hz to the front doors now? I'm still using the factory B&O amp - haven't killed it yet and it sounds good - and looking at my RTA I'd say it is crossed over at 60hz, like your doors were/are. set up like that, playing 'Go your own way', yes those drums will hit hard from the door mids.

I am surprised you find the HS10 very directional. I haven't heard others mention that, or experienced it with my sub, but I have a box under the bench and I assume your HS10 is mounted on the back wall facing forward so that's pretty different.

Yes sir, totally am. They love it! For whatever reason, the way I’ve got the HS10 set up, it thumps and moves air, but does not seem to do bowel-shaking low frequencies like I would’ve expected. The doors seem to fill in some of that, especially up front.

The HS10 I got was the previous-generation, and I think the latest one has been improved, but I could not say how. Ultimately it is a very small airspace to work with, I guess.

I am surprised, too. It goes against everything I’ve ever heard about audio systems. All I can chalk it up to is that it’s on the passenger side behind the rear seat, with a straight shot to my ear. Combine that with the 4” rear speakers doing minimal work, and the odd frequency emphasis by the sub itself, and it is what it is.

All in all, it’s a “no harm no foul” situation since I find it decently balanced with a few tweaks, but yeah, there are several things I cannot explain with what’s going on - which is weird, since I did 100% of the install and am pushing 40 years since the first time I ever put an aftermarket system in. 🤷‍♂️

My HS10 sounds pretty good, but I have it in the underseat storage on the driver side. I always wondered how it would sound mounted on the back wall. Mine hits fairly deep, but like you said its just working with limited air space. I'm thinking about trying the new HS12 since it used the same connector, it would be an easy swap out. But the HS10 sounds good enough for me unless I really want to crank up the bass.
