Hey guys gals, before I make a fool of myself at a car wash, what is the way to do it? Just put it in Neutral? I remember reading (a long time ago) before these were available. Someone said you had to go into the settings and disable something. Is that true?

Really? have you ever taken a car through a car wash before? There is nothing different between a non-hybrid and a hybrid going through a car wash.

Took our EB XL through several.. no issues, no need to disable anything.

Good point. I think I did have to do that. We have to do that in our Integra, but our Nissan Kicks rental brake hold disables itself upon shifting to neutral.

First Hybrid, not first car wash:) I remember reading on MTC that someone went through the car wash and it kept trying to put itself in Park when the rollers started moving it. That is why the only car wash I have been through is the one that goes back and forth of the truck.

I'll answer you question, geez. What you are talking about, I read about it in the manual, is if you want to turn the truck off in a car wash and put it in neutral you can. I don't remember the procedure but there is one.

you don't turn it off if you go that it automatically put the truck into park.

They had to do something else to make it that happen

If you forget the auto hold is on then it will not roll fwd when picked up by the car wash tracks.
Its just one of the buttons on the console aft of the round gear selector knob and a icon on the dash display. Just turn it off and you are good to go.
I don't have a hybrid but assume its the same as other models but if not then disregard this post.

If you are riding thru the car wash then put it in neutral. That is all I've ever done. At my car wash I turn it over to the staff to vacuum the interior then they normally put it on the track to pull it thru the car wash. Since opening the door puts it back in park I get back in and run it thru myself. So I can put it in neutral and it stays there. At the end I get out so they can clean the windows and interior. I believe there are a couple of other ways to do it but from what I've read in the manual touching the brake or opening the door puts it back in park. One way is to put it in neutral and then press the L button in the center of the gearshift knob. I don't trust them to get it right if they drive it up to the track so I ride it thru so I know it's in neutral.
