Hey everyone. I was able to take my first mini road trip with my Mav since I got it a couple weeks ago.
Allentown PA (338’ elevation) to Hershey PA (411’) for a concert. On the way to the concert I was in left lane traffic avg 80 mph in normal drive mode and received 29.8 mpg.
On the way home I decided to take my time. I put the truck in eco mode. Sat for 10 minutes trying to leave the concert and started the drive home. On the highway I found a uhaul and started drafting away going on AVG 60 mph and received 40.7 mpg by the time I got home. Definitely was pretty blown away.

Well, that hyper miling is what it would take and most Americans aren't willing to do that. Probably myself included, I'll do anything to avoid following a truck. But, you're right, on the highway if you adjust driving style there isn't that much difference between the two. Was this just an experiment? Tomorrow back to our new normal?

That's great, but under the same conditions you probably get 60mpg+ in the hybrid.
I can get depending on AC time running on a 79 mile trip with only a 275 foot drop in altitude and the slopes on most of the hills being longer in one direction 61mpg without drafting etc. However due mainly to those longer lower slopes the ice runs longer timewise and on return trip I will get about 42mpg. At one end I have 12 miles of 40mph which normally gets around 43 mpg. This is all without any special special effort. I probably with improving the 12 mile improve the whole 79 miles by 2 or more mpg.

What is a cd spec.
Drag Coefficient. It's a way of measuring aerodynamics. Most OEM's don't publish these spec's, but will always have formulated or actual wind tunnel spec's during model development.

Pickup trucks, for obvious reasons, are usually not so aerodynamic. Just wondering how the Mav would compare to other smaller trucks....

Of interest in July with dash temp showing 107-109 I added 9.6 gallons of 91 octane to tank of 87 and did the 275 ft altitude increase in Adaptive cruise set to 65 mph. I had to increase speed do to two lane road 3-4 times due to behind me traffic and I still got about 3-5 mpg better than my normal 75mph drive. Judging from what I read here it may be that 80+ may be a "sweeter" mpg spot than 75, at least on mine. 😇

We're averaging 49.6mpg in mixed driving after 3200 miles. I regularly get 55-60mpg (on-board estimate) on longer drives where there is highways mixed in. I am not drafting behind trucks, driving well below the speed limit, or doing any other unsafe things to get these numbers.

Thanks makes sense. I'd like to know that too.

For what is worth, maybe $0.03, I would like to have settings of both desired mph and actual road mph to allow adaptive adjustment of following traffic when needed subject, of course, to in front of me traffic. Maybe it's already there in I have not discovered it. 😇

FWIW, our Integra regularly averages 39-44mpg if driven conservatively. It's not a hybrid. But you dip into the throttle regularly and you're at 30mpg. I had an EB Maverick XL for 2,000 miles and it averaged 25mpg. Fine for a truck, but no where close to what I want out of the hybrid.
How is the new Integra??

Someone is bored in Allentown, PA or the ole lady said she has a headache.

Holy hybrid Batman! Sarcasm is hard to catch on the internet but people being butt hurt is easy to spot.
It was a joke and more about the impressive MPG I received on one trip! Obviously if you want 40 mpg and to worry about the Mav catching fire, get a hybrid.
Scarsam, some know how to use it and some do not, I teach a class in it.

Our on board avg mpg shows 39.4 due to Mrs (aka leadfoot") driving about 80-85% of time. (I try to not complain as normally I only get a cold cereal breakfast one day a week, today was 2.5 slices of bacon with 2 folded almost over medium eggs with 1/4 blueberry muffin plus about six bite size cantaloupe to go with my three cups of not quite as strong as I like coffee but why complain. 🤸👌)

Came across this interesting fellow and his mower carb sizing to v8 project on a Maverick car. You may be intrigued.
