Sitting a little over 6k and averaging over 38mpg. About 4k of that has been interstate with cruise at 75. Normal driving I’ve been getting 45mpg no problem.

That probably is right...especially if I pay attention to maximize regenerative braking and electric usage while I drive! Being smart about your route also helpsI think hilly is almost as good as city. The coasting downhill and powering uphill mimics city traffic. I'd like to get out of Illinois and looking at the Ozarks which is a lot of ups and downs.
Can you please expand? I'm a little suspect of you claim.I think part of the valve spring failure (carbon build up) is due to the nursing of that throttle that we all Hybrid owners like to do. Full open throttle will help with this build up. Until Ford puts stronger valve springs and or create a setting to burn off this build up.
But ya 45 is my average MPG 9 miles each way 18 miles total a day all street no highway.
yes, you should be! Those are GREAT numbers for that kind of driving! enjoy!I’m coming up on 10,000 miles and have been in eco-mode since the beginning. I make a 900 mile round-trip every three weeks from FL to Northern SC using AC and driving with a somewhat heavy foot (75 mph). My trips usually average around 38.5 mpg and the rest of my city/rural driving averages around 55 mpg. My overall mpg is 43.4 and I am extremely happy with all the mileages!
what the carbon build up increasing pressure in the chamber or my 45 MPgs?Can you please expand? I'm a little suspect of you claim.
AC is surely a factor, but there's gotta be more to it. I run the AC full-time here in NC, and routinely blast past the EPA numbers.. I must have an ideal commute or something.Y’all must not be using the AC very much if you’re getting those kinds of numbers. It’s always on here in NC.
I could get 37+ (calculated) at 73mph pretty easily over a 400 mile drive. But not some of these truly spectacular reported mpg’s. I seldom do much extended “city” driving though. Definitely in the 40s when I do.AC is surely a factor, but there's gotta be more to it. I run the AC full-time here in NC, and routinely blast past the EPA numbers.. Note: You can subtract about 1 or 2 MPG from those display figures. They are always a bit overblown. View attachment 62887 View attachment 62887 View attachment 62889

OK, I see. I have the opposite situation with almost entirely city driving. Had the thing 7 months, and have yet to do any significant highway driving. Man, I gotta get out of town!I could get 37+ (calculated) at 73mph pretty easily over a 400 mile drive. But not some of these truly spectacular reported mpg’s. city driving....is phenomenal with MPG. It amazes me every day. I live along Lake Huron, in a small city/town of 30,000 and when I travel along the water, in town....I easily get 60-70 mpg. I don't drive it hard, and am conservative, but I don't "poke".I could get 37+ (calculated) at 73mph pretty easily over a 400 mile drive. But not some of these truly spectacular reported mpg’s.
