I know we don’t have all the details yet but I wanted to get your guys general opinion on whether or not the dct upgrade with the upcoming tremor package will be what you want to get if you’re looking to mod the truck for performance.

I mean the Badlands BS has shown serious offroad capability. There is a video of a guy taking is mom for a picnic and going through some pretty gnarly stuff that some lifted older rigs had trouble with. For performance on road driving, I dont think the Tremor is the model you want. But I kind of expect that the ST version that will likely be a mid year up grade is going to have the diff aswell.

I mean it makes sense from a production standpoint. You got hybrids, AWDs, and then the special models with the modified suspension, and some body kits, but all run the same 2.0, upgraded cooling, and DC diff.

I cant imagine a reason why extra traction wouldnt help almost any sort of performance.

Dual Clutch rear axle I presume.
Yeah, that's not the same as a DCT (dual clutch transmission) so I thought perhaps OP was confused.

99.9% of owners wouldn't benefit from the twin clutch unit in the rear.

If the price is right I’ll definitely be interested. It will be cool to see a tougher looking Maverick that’s more capable.

As it will function as an electronic rear diff lock as I understand it, seems that it would be useful for bad snow, ice, mud in non off-road situations.

Even in those circumstances most of the time the traction control is going to be able to deal with it by using brake pressure to shift power through the open diff. It's mostly situations where power is needed simultaneously to both back wheels that this dual-clutch rear end would be of benefit.

As someone who has tested the limits of the AWD system through mud and very, very large puddles (I got water over the hood once...), I can tell you that the current setup is more than capable for what the vast majority of people will use it for.

I think it's cool to have the additional capability that the Bronco Sport offers, but at that point may as well look at the new Ranger if you need the capability.

We dont know the price point yet. Top pricing in all other models that have a Tremor is way above Tremor pricing. If the Lariat is 38-39 the Tremor if offered on xlt could be 34 to start, which with 3000 off I am getting with Granger is a hell of a deal.

For me personally the Ranger is oversized and under powered for its size. I think the Maverick is right where it should be. Interior space, size, power are all right where I need em. All mine will need is a cap with racks. The Tremor to me is for durability on my roads and lifestyle. While maintaining crazy good mileage.

For about 2k more than a FX4, the lift and tires alone may be worth it. The dual clutch is icing.

Don't think you need it. Been off road it's ground clearance that's the issue not traction. I changed from the scorpions to toyo 235 at 3 huge differences with better tires. Buttomingnout the front and rear end in washouts is the issue few inches no more problem

Buy a tacoma over the maverick. Way to many issues and it over heats off road quickly. At least the rrany and rear differential has issues. I've been having plenty of problems drove up hill in mud and ruts went 2km. Distance stopped put it.in park said awd disabled when I went into park. Something isn't right with the software it's over heating fast on a rocky hill climb wasn't even slipping or spining tires so it should've never over heated like that. Normal.mode no problem Slippery no problem however sand or mud ruts over heats. People driving broncos with dual clutch it over heats. If your off reading look at a tacoma wrangler or a ranger instead avoid the maverick. It works but has problems

Funny about the rumored problems with the Badlands drive train. I'm on the Bronco Sport forum daily and it isn't a topic there where people actually own and drive them. Certainly no issues with the one I bought and it goes places others in it's class cannot. Personal experience.
Can you over heat a PTU, yes, ask the Sube guys they know all about over heated PTUs. I think the BL PTO may be the only liquid cooled one out there and yes that includes the Mav FX4 which has ducted air cooling. That said you can "over heat" it if used very hard. It's designed to protect itself from damage and goes into limp for minutes of cooling to prevent damage before going back to work.
Dana twin clutch RDU problems? Other than a couple Ford factory screw ups involving loose bolts and low oil levels I know of no repeating problems, actually know of none. This is the same basic unit used in the 350hp Focus RS with different software.
Nope not a Ranger or a Toy it's an AWD but a very good one.
A 30 minute climb.
