March Maverick Production - 5,400 Units

What would you like from them? A email once a week telling you that they still don't know when your truck is going to be built because they don't have a good handle on whether enough supplies will come in to clear up all the orders before yours?

Because that's what's going on.

To put things in perspective, I've been waiting for my contractor to get an HVAC unit for almost a year now. And because it's a commercial unit, there's a lot less demand for that than for a Maverick.

I told the contractor not to bother with the weekly check ins. I told him to let me know when the unit is on its way so that I can clear up time for him install it.

Did your contractor tell you it would take a year or more for the unit? Because my dealer told me a few months. Being told the truth and not being told the truth, or being told anything is quite different. Ford has lied, and mis-represented the building of the Maverick for months... Remember the email they sent out about first in, first out regardless of allocations.. That was and is a FLAT OUT LIE.

And this is why in december I ordered an XLT with 4K tow, a full size spare and in cab power inverter, and nothing else. My vehicle had a build date of 08/15, and 2 weeks ago the moved it up to 08/08. Why? Maybe because I didnt try to boutique build it by slathering on the CP360, or the lux pak, or spray in liner, and loading it with all the accessories that anybody with normal skillz can add on in their own driveway. I had no need for any of it.

Does your order have additional constrained items on it beyond the Lux & Copilot? Mudflaps, tonneau, protective film, etc.?

I dropped the cover, mud flaps, swing tool box and left the LUX and CP360... I don't want the truck without them, and I'm not reordering a MY23 if it doesn't get built. I'm more than likely buying a Ridgeline September 1st unless I have a Schedule date.

Very reasonable to hold out for Lux & CP360. How recently did you drop the other stuff?

Not sure if anyone else posted this already but only 2 1/2 months from launch, as of August 23, 2021 Ford CEO Farley bragged about already having 100,000 Maverick orders before most even knew the Mav existed. Farley would have known sharing the Hermosillo plant with the Bronco Sport limited Mav production to 6,000 or less. And the supply chain was already a big issue last summer.

It looks like 2022 production numbers will not even meet the 100,000 orders through last August. There could be another 100,000 orders or more through January 2022.

I personally know someone who ordered a XLT hybrid on June 8, 2021 right after launch way before the long line, but he is still waiting. That is wrong. Just based on the math, the existing orders will probably need all of next year to be built assuming parts, chips, and Lithium are suddenly readily available.

Accepting 2023 orders seems pointless and will likely upset a lot more people. But Farley probably needs the new orders (that he knows he can't build for a long time) to keep his stock price pumped up.

Here is CEO Farley's email if you want to ask him what is really going on. He probably will not answer but he should if he cared about the customer. If enough of us email him maybe he will be transparent. But he might be covering up the truth so the value of his personal stock and options do not get cut in half.

Regarding the anecdotal example, the vast majority of Jun/July/Aug hybrid orders are at least scheduled, and the few that aren't are due to inclusion in the order of some heavily constrained item(s) that order-holders have been warned numerous times to remove in order to improve their chances of getting scheduled.

I don't know anyone who did not convert a reservation to an order but there are probably a few. Even if 10% did not order that is still 90,000 orders to Aug 23. I don't know how they can take 2023 orders already sharing a factory with the Bronco Sport.

I guess the point most people would agree with is Ford and Farley need to communicate better. They have all of our emails or they can just post production updates on Ford Authority. I am sure they know exactly how many months they are behind.

It's more on the order of 30-40% fewer orders than reservations.

I find that I have been warned to drop items from my order to get scheduled, however if those items are what I want, I shouldn't be warned about any of them. If tires were a constraint would FORD warn people to drop them? Ford sadly has a lot of explaining to do, but refuses to do any. I'm well aware of the constraints, of supply issues and of the COVID pandemic because I don't live in a bubble, My question is why FORD went ahead and kept allowing orders to contain those items, unless of course the FORD does live in a bubble?

when I ordered the Maverick - was told be ready in 8 to 12 weeks - signed a contract and paid a deposit - I ordered XLT with sunroof, tonneau did not order the co-pilot - 8-12 weeks what happen - called in May 2022 and Ford stated as soon get a vin will email. would not answer any other questions - so after 9 months- what is the problem - what parts cannot get- I here different people - Yes i would like updates - Doesn't Ford get updates.

You're leaving out the rest of the sentence. Something about supply constraints. You can't build something if you don't have the parts for it.

Do you think I liked waiting eight months to get my truck? Think I enjoyed having to register the piece of crap truck I was using for another year and paying the cost to get it to pass smog?

Hell no.

The difference between me and you is that you're complaining despite knowing about the supply chain constraints that exist in this world and I realize that they will screw things up, including the delivery of my truck.

But then, you're so smart that you know more than the engineers and logistics specialists at a $40 billion company.
