Well I sure as shit didn’t give my local dealer a couple thousand dollars to hold onto for 8 months for nothing. That’s why I’m questioning the legality of all of this. It’s like a Ponzi scheme

How is this a Ponzi scheme. And why did you give your dealer a couple of thousand dollars. My dealer charged me $0 deposit. Even if you did it should be 100% refundable at any time you want to walk away.

They are incorrect, the order has to be approved through COVP to be looked at for scheduling. The deadline for submitting into COVP was Feb 2nd, 2022. They can not submit now. Basically, you don't have a 2022 order. You will not get a private offer for your 2022 order and will not get priority on your 2023 order. So I would submit an order first thing August 2nd through a dealership that knows what they are doing.

I'm back and forth with the dealership...... the thing I don't understand is after I ordered, two days later I got an email from Ford letting me know they received the order. But your saying this doesn't matter, if the COVP wasn't done it's like the order Ford said they received doesn't matter?

Correct the email is generated when the dealer submits the order into the WBDO ordering system. Ford will not look at your order for scheduling or build with the ROVP approval. 5th bullet point down on this section. By the way, this memo came out back a year ago. It has ALWAYS been the rule. I did a video on it September 18th.

Because this isn't really a contract and you not being able to buy the truck you want, when you want, at the APR you want does not mean you have incurred any "damages".

It sucks, but it is 100% legal. A lot of people on this forum have zero concept of actual law.

Seems like too may lawyers involved in too much business these days...so we now have incompetence.

Then I am going to order another one on September 15, for my dear sainted mother.
I am going to keep ordering until someone actually shows me a newly constructed Maverick that I can take home.
I'm thinking MY24 will really do the trick.

Yeah, if the trucks would have been delivered to us all this would be a non issue. We would be happy and Ford would have our cash. I just found out I'm getting converted to a MY 2023 which means maybe this year, maybe next year, maybe higher price? The lack of communication is a big issue, I just went to my dealer today and they also don't know shit.

I just visited with my Ford dealer sales guy about the letter I received. He said that since my truck is at a priority 2, that he cannot make any changes at this point. (I have an order confirmed on October 19 for an XLT hybrid with lux. package.) He said since I am priority 2 I am highly likely to get my '22 vehicle. If It isn't scheduled in time, he doesn't know for sure if I will keep my place in line for a '23,
unscheduled priority 2 orders hearing something similar from your dealer?

I am also priority 2 since first week of May. Ordered 11-09 ecoboost FX4 AWD XLT moonroof SIBL. Told that I am price protected at original price. If I were to make any changes it would lead to a price increase. Have seen others on here making changes which changed their price. Thanks to my dealer for letting me know

That's great! I have some guys at work telling me I'm hosing them and I never ordered a truck at all and I'm lying. For almost EIGHT MONTHS now I've stopped in to the dealer to whine so at least THEY believe me.

The frustrating thing is you read these messages about an email supposed to arrive from Ford on a specific date and time, and then nothing actually shows up in email...maybe I just need to quit checking the forum and save myself the stress.

I had a 99 Ranger as well. Sold it shortly after ordering a Mav, but still have my 2012 Escape Hybrid, (29.5 mpg). I was afraid some major thing would go wrong with the Ranger, so I sold it while I could. Now that summer is here, I could really use a pick-up, but oh well.

Sold my 99 ranger as well; thinking I was getting my Mav sooner than later. It had 244k miles and ran fine, but terrible MPG.

I got the email this pm. I just competed a purchase on a Santa Cruz yesterday afternoon. A bit more $ but its in my garage...(and dealers have them and are selling them).

I am considering one as well. The standard NA 2.5 was a gutless turd. So I’m waiting for the dealer to have the turbo so I can test drive. I’m not a huge fan of the styling, but Mebbe they’re will be aftermarket for a different grill.

I received the e-mail; I am finished with FORD and will never look at any of their vehicles in the future. I feel that I have purposely been strung along and mislead/deceived through this entire garbage process. When I placed the order the supply issue was not new; you took the order; you wanted the customer to order the vehicle the way they wanted it, you placed a limitation on orders so that the orders could be built in the model year. Your CEO announced that all available chips were going to the FORD Lightning while thousands of customers waited anxiously to get the Maverick that was ordered long before the orders of the Lightening. You have failed to provide any useful information through this process and the dealerships (after reading many of these threads over the months) are as bad and/or worse than you the manufacturer that is supposed to know your business. If you don’t have supplies, then you don’t offer an item for sale. From a customer service aspect, you provided no useful information that only strung an individual along hoping/praying that something will change so that they can get what they ordered. At the end of the day, you don’t t care about the actual customer that placed the order because you knew ultimately the vehicle if ever built would be sold. Had you been honest months ago, the customer could have started looking/ getting in line to wait for vehicles that were being made. Only you knew the actual number of orders that were placed, you are the only ones that knew what supplies you had to fulfill the orders, and you alone were in direct contact with other manufacturers on the reality of receiving items needed and you knew all this long before now. You then send out this email advising the customer to contact the dealerships, which have not been communicative for many, many of the customers through this hell to drop constrained items but, still with no guarantee that the order would be made. Your useless email then promises an unknow incentive to keep waiting; and place a 2023 order when the order banks open up in August leading many to wait even longer to see whet 2023 holds, while not giving any information on where these customers will be placed in comparison to new orders (people that have not been waiting months and months). I then receive this bs from a different FORD dealership one day after receiving your email. So, I can only assume with the way you run your business, even for those that will wait until August to convert their order to a 2023 all of these pre-orders will be submitted before those.

Well after reading all 26 pages of this thread so far I got the itch to call the hotline just to see what they would say about my two orders after also getting the dreaded email.
My XLT Hybrid ordered in July still has no traction but my Lariat Hybrid ordered in September as of today has a VIN and Build date of September 2nd I was told.
I still may pop into my dealer for a 23MY order just to be on the safe side.
Curious what if any option and standard feature changes they may have. Curious about the PHEV option. Fingers crossed for all of us.

I emailed my dealer to move me to a 2023 (2022 order is a Hybrid with Lux package and spray in liner). My order date was Nov 1. They want to wait it out through July to see if I get a build date. I said fine knowing quite well that there were two chances of getting a build date in July (1) Slim chance (2) No chance.

I am glad I have access to my two younger boys trucks when needed so I am prepared to wait it out.
