Will a MY23 "special private offer discount" cost me more than the price of my MY22 Lariat Hybrid (sunroof, copilot 360) that I had on 9 Nov 2021 order date?

Good question! That is something that we don't know yet. For 21 -> 22 transitions (and there weren't nearly as many as there are for 22 -> 23), the rebate for transitioning a verified unscheduled order to the next model year ranged from $750-$3500, depending on model.

I expect that the 23 will cost more than the 22 even after the special inventive. But we'll have to wait to see the details.

My dealer said tow hitch is also considered a constraint. Doesn't make sense as the tow hitch is included not only on tow package but also on FX4 and Lux Package. Seems like the whole truck is now a constraint. Such a cluster f*%k.

I don't think so, he must be confusing the constraint from the Bronco to the Maverick.

The only constraint for me is the Lariat “Ultimate package” (assume that’s a loaded Lariat). Nothing else on that list do I have. Removed the film about a month ago. No letter from Ford

If you didn't get a letter then you probably are scheduled, you might check with your dealer.

If we keep our existing order and let it roll over into a '23 then does that mean we have to loose our place in line and complete a new order in Aug for a '23 model. How will we know what trim packages will be available and will there be future constraints that will get us right back into the current mess we are in?

No, that is the whole point of them transitioning 22 to 23. There should be a specific process for the dealer to transition the order and keep your earlier place in line (dealers are still waiting on details). You and the dealer will have to follow this process. If you just enter a new order for a 23 at the same or another dealer, you will be in the back of the line w/ all the new 23 orders.

They will tell you about the new packages etc during the window you have to transition your order.
Future constraints will probably be basically similar to today's constraints. Hopefully they will rework packages to help this a little.

Spoke to my dealer. They don't have much more info, but what I was told is

They suspect Ford's going to provide an incentive/discount to preorders = to the difference between order price and same kit '23 @ 8/22 (which would mean custom discounts depending on your order specs and date), and then price protect from that (8/22, '23 model) price. He said almost offhand that the discount "may even" be more than that amount, but definitely sounded like he felt that wasn't likely from his intonation.

Didn't sound like he expected financing to be protected from original order date, but rather would get reset to the 8/22 financing rates/promo's and be protected from that date.

He echoed what some people suggested in that he doubts there'll be major changes. Most likely a couple colors change/new colors and other minor stuff.

His understanding is that they WILL be reordering the 23 and your 22 order is cancelled, so you can make changes if you like (and if the discount is being done how they suspect, I would think that means you still get SOME savings b/c of your '22 preorder).

I asked if there would be a new order priority to track '22 rollovers to ensure we get build priority and he said that something like that would happen... basically the 23 orders from rollovers are likely to somehow indicate that we had a 22 order that was cancelled/wasn't built (name/address matching) and that Ford would have their own internal method to ensure we got built first (I have my suspicions about if this will actually happen, but he seemed confident).

All in all mostly best guesses on his part, but he probably has a better feel for these things than I do, so I figured I'd let you know what he said.

If it is similar to other times where model years have been transitioned.....Ford will have dealers leave the original order in the system. Ford will copy the order in 23 (so they have some link btw that and the original order), dealers will review w/ customer and resubmit.

I myself think that there will just a flat incentive for having to switch model years, rather than custom to each order. But we'll have to wait and see.

I called the Maverick information line today. If I want t keep my 2022 order and roll it over to a 2023 I have to contact the dealer as soon as possible after August 1, 2022 to confirm my intentions. Ford said that people who opt for the 2023 model will retain their place in the ordering queue. if they contact the dealer soon after August 1. They were also able to confirm that my Customer Order Verification Process (COVP) was completed correctly. I called 800 392-3673. When I asked a Maverick question they transferred me to a specialist on Mavericks who was able to answer my questions.

I didn't receive a letter, Eco, 360, lux XLT, Nov. 21 order. I called the Dealer today, not scheduled and a priority code is 10. Is it true you won't get a priority code 2 until you get a VIN?

1. Is Aug 2 when Dealers can enter new 2023 Maverick Orders? Yes, this will be when the dealer order bank opens and 23MY order guide and pricing are made available. All customer retail orders are price protected at the levels when their order was submitted.
2. Are 2022 customer orders price protected if they carry over to 2023? No, Ford has no way in their systems to provide automatic price protection when carrying over from one model year to the next like the way they do within the existing model year. This is why Ford will be providing the private offer which is the same approach Ford used last year for customers that were forced to transition from 21MY to 22MY orders.
3. When will dealers be able to convert unscheduled 22 orders to 23? Aug 2? So any 22MY retail orders that go unscheduled will fall off when we reach balance out for the 22MY – the last 22MY orders will be scheduled on August 18th. We provided customers in the email that went out yesterday a deadline of July 8th to remove constraining features from their orders. On August 2nd, any customer whose 22MY order has not scheduled can then work with their Ford dealer to place their 23MY retail order. At that point Ford will also be announcing the private offer amount that customers can put towards their 23MY retail order as only customers with unscheduled 22MY retail orders will be eligible for the offer.

I asked him to clarify if that meant we would lose our place in line and have to start over. He said that's what would happen, that on 8/2 it will start over for everyone and will just be first come firt served, we would just get the private offer on ours. I really hope he is confused because so far it had seemed like we would get a new 23 MY order replacing our 22s and hold our place in line. Maybe it is up to the dealer to place ours in the queue first?

The dates don't make sense in some spots. For example, if they claim that scheduling will keep happening thru August 18th, how could someone work with their dealer on August 2nd (an earlier date) to "re-order" their Maverick? Scheduling will not have been completed and folks would still have a chance at a 2022 until August 18th.....right?

corporate America is full of greed. Yes, that's the fact. Just look at corporate profit for the last 2 years. Unless you are one of them then beat on.

Yup. I bet they keep the sub $20k base, just so they can advertise it, but raise prices on the XLT and Lariat trims, as well as the option packages. Hopefully the "private offer" closes the gap on whatever the price increase ends up being. Probably not.
