I got the email this pm. I just competed a purchase on a Santa Cruz yesterday afternoon. A bit more $ but its in my garage...(and dealers have them and are selling them).
Gross. I think I would rather walk.

I am one of those who has 2 on order, same email used, one truck is a priority 2 and one a 16. I wonder if this email means both?

Unfortunately I got the email as well and not one bit happy about it. Order placed October 11, 2021. XLT hybrid with minimal options. Removed spray in bed liner when that seemed to be a part of the hold up. I understand that things are crazy, stuff happens, but now to hear this after my dealer recently told me my order had been moved up to priority 02 from 10?! Come on man!
Also I have seen people on here with orders after mine was placed getting their Mav. That’s not right at all. I cannot even imagine how jacked up the people even before I ordered feel.
I agree that MY22’s that aren’t built should auto roll over to MY23’s. If certain items are still constrained - here’s an idea: call the customer to see if they want that removed from their order.
the dealer I’m dealing with and placed my order through just told me today when I called that Hybrid is part of the issue, although like you say, NOT listed as an issue. And he also said something as simple as a hitch may be the issue.
that to me makes no sense at all. If a hitch is what held up any order then the customer should have been notified and asked if they were willing to wait almost a year just for it.
The dealer today also told me that he had a Bronco order with a hitch and the customer removed it from order, got built, and a hitch was delivered to the dealer next day to install on that same Bronco. True or not that makes no sense.
Very frustrated with Ford, the dealer, this process and just happy to be part of a community of folks who know the feeling right about now.
I understand that "hybrid" isn't listed as a constrained item...but we've all known that demand for hybrids was much higher than expected.

They don't list it as an issue, but cause it is not something that can be changed. Making a major change like that is the same as putting in a new order, and they are not allowing new retail orders.

Ford blows, been waiting 8 months and took off all constraints in Feb/March. Then right after I did they said constraints didn’t matter, just going by timeline now.

another email wanting people to take off constraints, it won’t matter. Then you’ll get bumped to the back of the line in 2023 and have to wait 8+ months any way.

Great! Hopefully is stays (but even if it changes, you should get a 22 for sure!)

Whoever is doing projections at Ford is a moron. How about closing ordering earlier so you can actually fill all the orders for MY22?
They did. A long time ago. Based on what they knew back then. Situation on computer chips was supposed to get better. It hasn't, it has gotten worse. Ever try to project inventory needs 12 months out or even 6 months out? During a pandemic and global shipping snafu? No? I didn't think so. It's never easy and nearly impossible in the current situation.

The industry I work in is not nearly as complex as building cars and projections are a complete nightmare. No supplier knows anything and if they do its wrong. And if it is right then the shipping gets screwed up and you are wrong anyway.

I understand your frustration but calling people who are doing the best they can in an impossible situation 'morons' is neither fair nor accurate.

I doubt that carryover orders can be switched to a different dealer (remember the ROVP was done specific to that dealership). In rare circumstances Ford may intervene to switch and order/allocation (our dealership had an F150 Lightning order & allocation switched over to us by the higher ups).

We don't know the details yet. My guess is that it will be a set amount....maybe tied to the base vehicle price increase? It very well may be tied to the carried over vehicle.
Hopefully Ford will have thought of all of those possibilities you mention and make the rules clear in early Aug!
At the least, I think Ford should make the private offer valid on ANY Ford truck (or at least Maverick) we want to buy in 2023. Keep in mind at that point all of us will have been waiting close to a year or more for our vehicle. Why penalize someone who finds one in dealer stock somewhere and wants to buy it?

So if rolled over the best you can hope for is getting in line 2 weeks before anyone who orders for the first time? Wait in line for a year for a chance to wait in line. Perfect.
well you should be a year ahead of anyone who just got in line of that was the case because a LOT of unfilled orders should roll over to model year 2023 as I do not think most folks will cancel.

I know hybrids have been an issue. Pisses me off the guy down the street has one. Not sure when he ordered it. I have also seen videos of random non order placing people on YouTube of people buying from dealers Hybrids. In my mind when and if someone dropped out and couldn’t wait that delivered hybrid should have been offered to someone that had ordered. I guess I’m too optimistic and logical?!
I agree with you there. I have stayed in the loop with my dealer about getting offered any Mavericks that customers backed out of. They have offered me a couple, and they still added on the ADM even though I have an existing order with them. Their ADM is only $3k but still. I offered to exchange my order for one at MSRP and they said I still had to pay.

That is a possibility. The rebate may be tied to the customer. We'll have to wait and see (ugh sorry...more waiting).

Took me 11 months to get my Maverick, I know how it is to wait!

Now that takes the cake! Does Ford realize their brand will more than likely be affected by that type of nonsense? I know dealers are independently owned but that’s harsh stuff. Gross

Ford is giving themselves an out. Pure and simple. You don't keep in touch with us, we drop your order. Sounds about on par for how they've handled things so far. Maybe I'm wrong, sure doesn't sounds like though! I do feel like this is my huge neon sign stating "HELLO!! You decided to get a vehicle, quit stalling and get something before prices and interest get even further out of control."
