I'm ok with a 23' at this point. It'll allow me to treat the bottom before winter hits here in the salt belt. Definitely don't want holes in it after one season lol

Read recently that auto industry in USA produced 2.2 million LESS vehicles in 1st quarter 2022. Reasons given were COVID / parts shortage / shipping delays / etc.
So, Ford's 300k backlog seems in line. Wonder where demand would be for Maverick if they had been able to produce at normal capacity? You can't sell what you can't make.

the plant in Mexico is maxed out - they produce 25k vehicles a month, so they are producing at normal capacity.

This is Bullshit! Unacceptable! Ya know, some communication could have come months ago and given us a heads-up with some gentle (to the point) warnings let us prepare. But, nothing. Squat Zip. Well, I haven't heard anything but rumor about the above so I hope it isn't true and that I get my Maverick in the near future. My optimism has pretty much evaporated.

It's no surprise to them that 'many' will likely be 2k23s now, they knew the volume of orders they had, they know the plant is maxed out, so simple math told them long long ago - back at the beginning of the year that there was no way these were all going to get produced yet they sat on their a**es and just let everyone sit around hoping and expecting that they'd get theirs within 8 or 10 months. This corporate BS about 'well as we all well know ...' is trite and sickening. They are the ones who know the total real orders in the queue, all we are / were are speculators. What's the point of waiting half a year to tell us this and wasting everyone's time including their service reps trying to find out a timeline when the customer's ride was going to get produced, what's the logic and philosophy behind that? When they come out next month and send out some blanket well if you don't have a notification by this date that we're gonna build your truck then you're getting a 2023 they better damn well tell us how many orders that will be so we'll have some friggin idea if it's gonna be the end of this year or next spring or summer. Honestly, this big business corporate 'hide the facts' mentality sucks.

Think you may be optimistic. There is no guarantees that Ford will produce the 22 orders before the 23's. Some who order 23's when the order banks open will be produced before people who wanted months. I would bet on it.

there'll be some a-kicking if that happens. If/when we see posts about that they're going to have a PR meltdown.

Ordered XL Hybrid cp360 w/hitch on 9/20/21, built 5/23/22 per Ford tracker, shows shipped but no date of being shipped. I suspect the issues with the hybrid, they are modifying them…but no word on delivery date.

I'm probably the only one on this forum who thinks this way, but I think Ford should stop taking customer Maverick orders, period. For the 2023 model year, they should continue delivering already-ordered units to customers as 2023 vehicles, but everything not built to meet an existing order (because those orders are waiting for constrained parts) should go to dealer stock. I'm just saying they should stop digging the hole deeper and stupidly pissing off tens of thousands of people.

Restart customer orders when you can guarantee delivery in 6 weeks.

Or at least tell anyone putting in a 2023 order that hey we already have X thousands in the queue from last year and based on simple math those aren't going to get all produced until whatever quarter in 2023 and 2023s will not begin to be scheduled until after ALL of those are produced. In that, supposedly, they are building vehicles in the order they were received it should be simple to keep a running total of new incoming orders and tell any customer at the desk - based on producing about 8K Mavs a month -and with the cavaet that ANY option you add can influence this - what quarter their vehicle will be produced in.

And since then, their production numbers have gone down even more. Especially for the Hybrids because there are parts issues with the high voltage batteries.

100% agree. On the rare occasion I see one on the road I wish I had my little commuter with a bed. But for now I will continue to drive my V8 that takes premium fuel and gets 15MPG….lol
