Some of y'all are talking like our "rolled over" truck order would still be a 2022. Why would Ford produce MY 2022 Mavericks when the MY2023 builds start? Won't all the MY 2022 orders become MY 2023 orders? We won't lose the model year for depreciation.

From what I remember hearing the FordVideoGuy, Tim Barth, talk about on one of his streams -
  • We should only have to concern ourselves with changes to the packages/features.
  • We keep our order in queue and only lose that if we change trim or engine.
  • We keep our price protection for the packages we have on our orders.
  • If there is more stuff in the package we get that.
  • If there is less stuff we don't get that.
  • If the item was removed from the package and is an option we get that.
  • If we want another package added we pay for that (probably MY2023 prices).
I am sure constraints to packages still apply.
This all goes out the window with the model year changeover. Current order holders will get a certificate to help offset the cost increase and they will be based off of current trim level and engine. When the order banks open on August 2nd, you can build whatever you like. Only discount will be the certificate.

You don’t know exactly how Ford is going to handle MY22 orders pushed to MY23 yet since not even Ford dealers seem to know.

Yep, constraints don't magically disappear with the new model year.
And unfortunately neither does Ford's allocation system.

Ok. I was just answering the question. You can wait for Tim to confirm in a couple weeks. Best of luck.

I know a guy who works at a Nissan dealership.

They have seven new vehicles TOTAL on their lot. I see Ford dealerships around here getting (and selling for a huge markup) 2-5 Mavericks a week. Ford is screwing the customer to keep favored/big dealers happy.
Orders from JULY still undelivered is a joke.

You could test that theory on Kelly Blue Book. I’m guessing the difference would be minimal. Likely less than $1000 (<5%).
I happened to test out the theory on KBB for a 2021 and 2022 Toyota Highlander. I used the same specs for both and 30,000 miles. The 2021 actually had a higher trade-in value than the 2022. Probably because it is 30,000 miles over two years versus 30,000 over one. It was only about $6-700 more but its something.
