Maverick already has ceramic coating??

I brought my Maverick in (XLT w/ Lux Package hybrid in shadow black w/ mud flaps and Protective Film Hood/Fenders) to the detailer for get a ceramic coating done. He gave me a call this morning and said that the way the soap is reacting to my vehicle after the wash, he believes it already has a ceramic coating done on it and recommended a graphene coating on top for extra durability (and 1/4 the cost!)

Question is where did this ceramic coating come from? The Lux package didn't include any information about adding one nor does the XLT trim!

Hate to say it but your detailed may not know what they are doing. No vehicle comes from the factory with a ceramic coating. Go somewhere else.

Honestly, I wondered about the same thing after washing my truck. I didn’t dry it or anything and have horrible water and there wasn’t one spot after it dried!

Wont have ceramic coating from factory. I don't have any facts but would stand behind statement. Dealer probably just wants to use some spray on coating thats easy to do. . .

I ordered some Adams Ceramic coating kit off amazon. Dose not look to hard to do.

I got the P&L ceramic and it took me about 1-2 hours. Very easy to do

I'd bet it's coated with a silicone spray or something for shipping. I wonder if that's what he's seeing.

Given the hours of work to apply ceramic coating, I wouldn't think Ford would give that away without advertising it.

I'm wondering if it's part of the lux package cuz on my invoice it does say "exterior lux package"

It was likely a dealer package. Do you have your invoice with itemization?

Either a dealer package that you didn’t notice, where they spray it with a consumer grade minimal Si02 spray, or they used a quick detailer spray with wax in it during PDI… wax as you dry stuff.

When I got my truck, the water sat on the paint like a clapped out daily driver that’s never been washed.

I do but there's no additional charge for that exterior lux package.. just the regular Lux Package, mud flaps and the protective film.

Right, but that's not a dealer package. That's a Ford package. The dealerships will have local contracts to do things like nitrogen in tires, tinting, surface treatments etc ... Think old days and the old undercoating scams.

Thats what I'm saying, it mentioned it as a line item but there was no additional cost associated with it
