honestly coatings are overhyped a bit! that said have done a handful. id say that they do need care, and they need to be periodically cleaned more often than when it rains, since here thats like once a year except this year 
if kept clean and periodically topped up with something consumer grade they can last a good deal longer than waxes by. along shot
