No, I wouldn't expect the dealer to hold orders for someone they still needed to talk to before submitting their order, and I never said I did.So if 100 people came in and placed orders on day 1 and you show up on day 4. Would you expect that dealer to hold all of those orders and wait for you to arrive? No dealer is going to do anything like that.
I specifically asked the salesman in our initial conversation if I'd have to talk to him on order day and he said no, not unless the options I want change, in which case we could still talk about the different options I want before the actual order date.
Yes, I am well aware there is no order placed yet. The salesman told me this himself, and anyway, I was already aware that Ford is not accepting orders until August 15th (25th for the Ecoboost I want). That's why it's called a pre-order. I will give them all the info and verification they need well before then, and then they will submit my order to Ford on the 25th on my behalf, without me needing to call them or walk in the day of.While you have placed a $500 deposit early, you have not placed an order. Orders were closed in January and don’t open again until August. Dealers are not going to hold orders and wait on you to place an order.
Not trying to be rude. It’s just business.
What are you not understanding about this?
