By the time mines shows up the Maverick will be old news and just another truck on the road.
Mine will be here in June and I hope that is the case. Talking to and being approached by random people is pretty much the last thing I'd want to do in life.

On Wednesday I went on a trip and in the first hour I pulled up to a light and a man walking his dog had walked up to the intersection. He motioned to me and I figured he wasn't a beggar, so I rolled down the window and he asked "how ya like the truck?"

"I love it."

Him: I was thinking of getting one but everyone is out of stock.

Me: yeah, I ordered mine and took 3 months to get it.

The light changed but no one behind me so I added, "I'm getting 47mpg today. Definitely worth it." but then waved and moved on.

Hope he gets his truck. Seemed starstruck looking at it. I know in my area it's still a novelty but it's definitely well known.

Many people want a truck for when they need a truck but want the smaller footprint and better mileage. Not to mention the cost is great. And it's shown with all the attention I've gotten since getting mine.

I'm betting many of us in possession of the truck often get folks who check out the Maverick wherever it gets parked, whether in a lot or your driveway. I've had people follow me on their bicycles or in their vans to see where I'm parking to get a better look. And, of course, there's those who look it over while in a parking lot. Today was one such day. I was having breakfast with the wife and noticed some activity around my parked Maverick. Told the wife and she said, "Go show them." Ran out the restaurant and proceeded to give a sales level tour of the Lariat including letting the husband sit in it. I'm posting this because it was such a great experience not only in being able to showcase all the great features, but also having that human connection of bringing good feelings to someone who wants a Maverick but hasn't been able to even see one on a lot let alone in the wild. Suffice to say, we both walked away genuinely pleased about the whole experience. I can't be the only one who has experienced this. I'd like to hear from others.
Here too, I've had a few encounters while filling up a few times. One guy was eyeing the Mav as I was heading into Harbor Freight. At Dunkin Donuts, I was leaving and a "Taco"owner asked what that was. Lol. He said it was a great looking ride. At a light, a guy eyed truck up & then and nodded with approval.
Heading home Easter, had a lovely "race" with lifted late model F150. Had his brakes literally smoking from traffic light to traffic light. He gave me the thumbs up when we parted ways.
The EB rocks!
I've only see two others "in the wild" in my neck of the woods.
Love this thang!🤘

I have 1 a week when I'm out getting gas or at a store. That's not counting the people when I'm not next to it

I've had maybe a half dozen interactions so far. It's quite different when the person knows nothing about the Maverick and when they know a lot.

With my old 74 Maverick hotrod I would even let people sit in it and rev the engine. They could take it cause it had a ultra complex B&M shifter that was so hard to figure out I had to call the guy I bought it from how the shifter worked after he dropped it off lol!

I also saw a guy showing a kid at Subway how the air bags on his 90s ranger worked and let him play with the remote a bit.

In car culture it is always appropriate to share your vehicles beauty with others. Its how inspiration works. Otherwise you arent any better than Camerons dad rubbing his Ferrari Daytona replica with a diaper.
I am missing this reference: " Cameron's dad rubbing his Ferrari Daytona replica with a diaper." - would like to know, so I can enjoy the depth of humor here.... TIA

Us older farts (60+) did not have micro-fiber rags for waxing a car, so used what was available for soft cotton rags, a cotton diaper was a logical choice.

I have to say that nearing the 6 month mark of waiting I am losing that initial excitement of getting a Mav.
I have seen a few in the wild but never touched one. Maybe if I sat in one my interest would stabilize.
This forum keeps me out of trouble, most of the time while waiting, but I only have repetive dumb things to say like my .....paragraph.......here....... 🥱

😳Oh, so I hope I meet a good Sam like you someday dad, or at least a fellow with a friendly pushy wife.😏
I've been waiting nearly 8 months & mine is finally built. Now the 3-4 week wait for delivery begins.

We were at a hotel riding up in the elevator with some folks when a guy asked how I liked my Maverick. LOL... there wasn't anyone around me when I pulled up to the front. It was totally unexpected. You never know when someone is looking. Kinda random, kinda cool.

..."Cameron's Dad"... a great reference, from one of the best movies ever. I've watched it dozens of times over the years. 'Never gets old.

It's a reference to the most excellent movie "Ferris Buehler's Day Off"; highly recommended!

Our society has almost reached the point where strangers never talk to each other. It is very sad. So many random people you used to meet at record stores, buying tickets for ballgames and concerts , the post office, people asking for directions, etc. Heck, I know people who ended up marrying that met in lines for concert tickets. So many ways people used to meet that are gone.

I work at a Ford dealership and sit in my truck at lunch a lot of times. Sales always sends customers out to look at it since we don't have any in stock. Last week we had found a baby rat in a customer vehicle so I'm out in my truck, bottle feeding a baby rat and a customer walks right up to me "hey, how ya doin? Do you like your truck"? Then lowers his gaze to said rat and tiny baby bottle.... So awkward 🤦 but... Guy was totally down to buy one! 🤣🤣🤣
