I am missing this reference: " Cameron's dad rubbing his Ferrari Daytona replica with a diaper." - would like to know, so I can enjoy the depth of humor here.... TIA

I haven’t gotten too many comments on my Mav yet, but since I work from home three days out of the week I haven’t driven it around and parked it too much. I went to a press check in Gardena and the vendor I spoke to talked to me about it and said it looked great. I don’t mind talking to random strangers cuz I’m one of those types that will ask people about their cars if I see something interesting.

In the time I’ve had it I’ve only seen one other Mav the road and it zipped by me. I also saw an XL parked on the same street as my son’s daycare in Lakewood. Maybe I will see you around the Cypress area @Dad if I go get Flat White Coffee after dropping my son off on a weekday morning.

When I go shopping or running other errands in my Mav I have generally made an effort to park further away from the storefront to be away from other cars to avoid door dings. I had one guy at a grocery store compliment me on my truck but that’s been about it.

I have shown my truck to a lot of my co-workers, friends, and family and have gotten a lot of very positive comments. There’s a young man here at work who wants a Maverick in the worst way, and I have offered to be a resource to help him when he’s ready to buy a 2023 MY truck etc.
Very kind of you!

Yes, that would be great! You are close by. I'm running with the Alto Blue Lariat off Ball Road.

Here too, I've had a few encounters while filling up a few times. One guy was eyeing the Mav as I was heading into Harbor Freight. At Dunkin Donuts, I was leaving and a "Taco"owner asked what that was. Lol. He said it was a great looking ride. At a light, a guy eyed truck up & then and nodded with approval.
Heading home Easter, had a lovely "race" with lifted late model F150. Had his brakes literally smoking from traffic light to traffic light. He gave me the thumbs up when we parted ways.
The EB rocks!
I've only see two others "in the wild" in my neck of the woods.
Love this thang!🤘
Considering how few times you "fill up" your encounters are impressive!

I picked up my Maverick in November and realized pretty quickly that people notice it, even if a conversation doesn't take place. The attention seems to have tapered off a bit, but I still have a fair number of parking lot conversations with strangers.

It's funny, I feel compelled to keep my Mav clean at all times because I know that people are going to be checking it out on the streets or in parking lots. It's a lot of pressure! 😄

I'm betting many of us in possession of the truck often get folks who check out the Maverick wherever it gets parked, whether in a lot or your driveway. I've had people follow me on their bicycles or in their vans to see where I'm parking to get a better look. And, of course, there's those who look it over while in a parking lot. Today was one such day. I was having breakfast with the wife and noticed some activity around my parked Maverick. Told the wife and she said, "Go show them." Ran out the restaurant and proceeded to give a sales level tour of the Lariat including letting the husband sit in it. I'm posting this because it was such a great experience not only in being able to showcase all the great features, but also having that human connection of bringing good feelings to someone who wants a Maverick but hasn't been able to even see one on a lot let alone in the wild. Suffice to say, we both walked away genuinely pleased about the whole experience. I can't be the only one who has experienced this. I'd like to hear from others.
Same here. I have been told I am an excellent sales person. Hybrid lariat Velocity Blue with everything but the sun roof.

I have to say that nearing the 6 month mark of waiting I am losing that initial excitement of getting a Mav.
I have seen a few in the wild but never touched one. Maybe if I sat in one my interest would stabilize.
This forum keeps me out of trouble, most of the time while waiting, but I only have repetive dumb things to say like my .....paragraph.......here....... 🥱

😳Oh, so I hope I meet a good Sam like you someday dad, or at least a fellow with a friendly pushy wife.😏
I waited over eight months to get my XLT... For me it was worth it... Hope you can hang in there...

Next year there will be many Mavericks on the road , this year people will come over and take a look at my Maverick Hybrid with my wife and I sitting in in it, making my wife uncomfortable . I have told one person who was talking pictures to stop.

Yeah, taking pictures without asking permission is totally overboard and downright rude.

My coworker (who bought himself a sweet Ford Ranger recently, the wheels of which I covet) stopped me today in the parking lot. Rolled down the window of my Maverick and he gave me a big smile and said, "Like it?" Told him I loved it and told him his Ranger was awesome. He gave me a thumbs up, and since we were blocking the parking lot with our gabbing, we had to cut it short and make way for people leaving work.

On the way home, I was first to the turn lane at the stoplight. I was on one corner, and there was a blue Ford Bronco at the corner to my right.. Light turned green and I made my turn. Saw him gesturing toward my truck and flashed him a peace sign and mouthed "Peace out!"

I gotta find the wheels my coworker had on his Ranger. They make me drool every time I see them.

Had a couple other random stranger inquiries about the Maverick since my first post. Bit of background. Wife drove the Mav behind our motorhome on the way to Flying Flags Buellton, CA from Cypress, CA. Campground is a forest of big trucks hauling big trailers, so lots of head turning upon seeing the little Maverick. One guy was brave enough to ask me about the truck. Apparently, he ordered two ... one for his dad. No delivery until '23 and he hadn't even sat in one as of yet. Of course, I let him savor the interior for a moment.

Incident #2:
A week later, upon returning the RV to storage, got multiple "how do ya like yur truck?" Seeing an F-150 owner's mouth agape when I told him I drove to and from Buellton several days ago and still had 125 miles til empty was priceless. Don't get me wrong. Many folks need a big truck for work or towing, but I'm of the opinion the majority just like to sit up high in a big truck. With our resources being severely limited, those big truck days may be a thing of the past.

I have had many family members and neighbors ask about the truck when passing by my house. My one neighbor that I rarely talk to actually walked over from his yard and said "Man I love the color, what is it?" I gave him the nickel tour and he was shocked at the price and mileage.

Yesterday I had my first SHOUT from an F150 owner driving down the state route next to me. "How do you like it" he said "Love it" I said. he said he had one on order and I replied with "I'm getting 43.5 MPG" he grinned real big and I did too. It was pretty neat. I am going to take it to a cars and coffee to see the reactions I get, or not get.
