Doesn't work like that. They don't keep inventory on hand anymore. They use a system called Just In Time or "Lean Manufacturing" where the ordered parts are supposed to arrive just in time to deliver them right to the Production floor after a quick Receiving Dept. stop to process them.
Do you work for Ford?

Work in the Fabrication market and none of my suppliers use this system or strategy.

Mid September 21 order date and no build date yet, no estimate. I work in the electronics field and we know the lead times however bad they may be. I think they are unwilling to tell people for fear they will bail.

Folks, many of you said you didn't like the lack of communication from Ford, so it seems they've changed that and are communicating.

Now you're not happy that they're communicating why your truck isn't built?

I don't get it.

If you look at the constraints, they are packages which pad their margin on every vehicle. So they want to sell you what you ordered, but they just can't. The ball is in your court on whether or not you want to change your order.

Please ensure your Consultants are aware of these communications going out to Maverick Unscheduled Retail Order Holders

SUMMARY
Good afternoon,

As was referenced in the previous maverick communication that went out February 21st, the combination of extraordinary demand and global supply constraints is delaying the scheduling of many 2022 model year Maverick retail orders. To support in customer communications, the attached crm email will be delivered to customers with unscheduled Maverick retail order customers tomorrow, April 13th.

Highlighted in the communication is the fact that orders with the optional Co-Pilot360™ package, XLT Luxury package, and Lariat Luxury package face the strongest constraints. Customers are advised to engage with their Ford dealer to review their order specifications and potential options to remove any constraining packages and/or features. A follow-up communication is planned to go out in June to any customers with retail orders that remain unscheduled.

Dear Ford, at the time of my September order, you had everything in stock to build it… you chose however to build based on your stupid “allocation” method. So, that being said…. Those orders built after mine, with items that should have been placed on my previously ordered truck were squandered by FORD…. This is just plain shitty.. So now you say Ford will build trucks in the order they were placed… except you gave those later orders my parts. Ford you are an embarrassment to vehicle manufacturing. Horrible business model.😡

I ordered on November 1st. I have seen at least a half a dozen Mavericks built that were the same options as mine that were ordered in December and January.

NOW Ford says they don't have the parts? After I waited 5 months? After I watched others skip the line?

It's obvious the strategy Ford is using: drag us along so we don't go with another manufacturer. If I knew that it would be 7+ months to get a truck, I wouldn't have ordered it.

@fordvideoguy if I've been moved to priority 2 and then remove co-pilot 360 will that affect my priority 2 designation?

Nobody on this planet could have "known" that. Come back to reality.
You think Ford was out of the loop on the chip shortage? That was going on way before they started taking Maverick orders. They should have been upfront and only taken a very limited number of orders. Other companies have done that. I refuse to believe they did not know they wouldn’t be able to make all those orders when they accepted them.

I don't disagree with what you said. It's unfortunate that they decided to have a scheduling mechanism that doesn't make sense from a customer experience.

Every MY22 that rolls over to a MY23 is a Maverick Ford can't sell next year. They want zero roll overs and don't care if you don't get the options you want.

Question Please:
I did not receive this email from Ford. My order was placed 10-25-2021, that being a Lariat Lux Package. Should I be worried that my dealership did not place my order properly, and Ford is unaware of it? I understand my Maverick has all the constraint items, but it sounds like all unscheduled Maverick orders should of gotten this email.
Thanks for you input.

My issue is they told me 12-16 weeks when I placed the deposit back in Sept '21. 7 months later and little to no communication. If they had said 7 months to we don't know when back then I would not have placed the $500 deposit.

I hear you but don't quite agree. That shine, to me, is still the value this product offers. These delays haven't yet effected my appreciation of the Maverick, it's merely the the situation we're all in. I can't blame them for wanting to make more money and I don't expect them to blame me when I hold out to get what I ordered, ahead of those who ordered behind me.
