I ordered my truck July 17th. It's been almost 9 months and I'm expecting it. I agree the early orders should get first priority on constrained options and not skip over those orders to build later orders, at all. Might seem selfish but it's been a long wait. I'm at priority 2 for some time now.

I have a Mid October order. I am not mad that the parts were constrained. I am frustrated with how constrained parts have been used. A bare minimum truck should be built with a later order date as long as that doesnt interfere with earlier orders. The June orders keep losing a parts that were in stock.
I want a whiskey coke. You are out of whiskey. The delivery will be 15 minutes. So you sell all rum and cokes while I wait. Whiskey is here, but we are out of coke. You sell whiskey and 7up. Coke is back, but whiskey is out. Ford seems to repeat this process all day.

A week or so ago I asked my salesperson about switching to the drop-in liner instead of the spray-in that is part of my XLT Lux Package and he said that could be done but I would have to "drop many other items! Will probably be a 2023 model". I thought doing the switch of the liner was a key to speeding things up or would that mean my order was too far along to be altered?
That’s interesting. I forgot the spray in liner was part of Lux. But the lady I spoke with earlier at Ford didn’t tell me I needed to drop the Lux package-just the spray in liner. I mean I don’t plan on dropping anything. I want my vehicle the way I ordered it.

Ford could not have fucked this up any worse. They knew before taking orders how many restraints there would be. But they didn’t tell anyone that when ordering. Or after ordering. And now they are telling people to just go bare bones and maybe the tru k will get built sooner. I’ve never bought from Ford before and if this is business as usual with them I will definitely not go through this mess again.

You can't switch from the luxury package with SIBL to the luxury package with the DIBL. Both packages are balanced out.

Ford commercials say to build it your way. Pick the color, pick the wheels, pick all your options etc. Build it your way. And that is what us buyers did last summer. Without seeing or taking the vehicle for a test drive. Ford, these are dedicated buyers. Don't loose them by all of your delays.

So, I talked to my salesman today. I actually wanted to add the all wheel drive pkg and get the upgrade black wheels. I ordered an XLT with LUX and a sliding back window and that was pretty much it. He told me though that he could not add the two items because the portal was closed and would not open until Oct. So if that is true how would you cancel something, not that I am? I will wait it out.

ACTION REQUESTED
Please ensure your Consultants are aware of these communications going out to Maverick Unscheduled Retail Order Holders

SUMMARY
Good afternoon,

As was referenced in the previous maverick communication that went out February 21st, the combination of extraordinary demand and global supply constraints is delaying the scheduling of many 2022 model year Maverick retail orders. To support in customer communications, the attached crm email will be delivered to customers with unscheduled Maverick retail order customers tomorrow, April 13th.

Highlighted in the communication is the fact that orders with the optional Co-Pilot360™ package, XLT Luxury package, and Lariat Luxury package face the strongest constraints. Customers are advised to engage with their Ford dealer to review their order specifications and potential options to remove any constraining packages and/or features. A follow-up communication is planned to go out in June to any customers with retail orders that remain unscheduled.

My salesman encouraged me to add nothing that couldn't be done by the dealership when I placed my order in late October. I started with an XL w/360 and a few days later I had him bump up to the XLT. My order was confirmed November 1. Ford is suggesting that I remove the 360 so that they could "potentially build my Maverick sooner." But then it wouldn't be MY Maverick, would it?
We've heard this before. I think they will keep whittling away at orders with constraints, ie heavy chip builds, and eventually they'll get around to building all the trucks, including mine as shown in my signature.
MY 2023…..would you like your one choice Maverick to be black or white?

Nobody on this planet could have "known" that. Come back to reality.

If I remove constrained items, then it will NOT be the truck I ordered.

Hey Micheal, what do you think the upcoming June communications will be about? Has your dealer reached out to you concerning your build?

I ordered my truck a certain way for a reason. I want the features of the luxury package. It wouldn’t be what I want if I remove that. Ford Motor company, do better. At least act like you have some empathy. Me and my kids had a lot of fun selecting features we wanted. My kids have never had the fun of getting a brand new vehicle, and they are very much looking forward to getting the truck they helped customize. Asking us customers to give up features is ludicrous. I ordered 9/15. There is no fairness if you build any trucks ordered after that date before building mine. Constraints be damned. Build in the order the orders were placed.
?

So, Ford is sitting there saying we can't build any more lux packages this week, but we have parts on-hand to build 3,000 base xls and xlts this week. Nope! Says the boss. That might result in someone getting his truck before Josh who ordered a day earlier. We can't have that. Send everyone home.

Doesn't work like that. They don't keep inventory on hand anymore. They use a system called Just In Time or "Lean Manufacturing" where the ordered parts are supposed to arrive just in time to deliver them right to the Production floor after a quick Receiving Dept. stop to process them.
