Nah man, you said the maverick will give you dignity
"Come on, must have SOME dignity you know..." Nah man, learn how to read, never said it will "give" me anything, just saying it won't take ALL of my dignity away unlike a certain other skinny jeans car with a bed would...

Nah man, I just get what I think is practical for me. But there are limits on how low I can stoop, and having some overpriced car with a "bed" that can only hold about 600 pounds and a grill that looks like it was designed by someone who thinks he's an artist because he has a piece of modern art on display in Wynwood, yah, that's just too low, even for me... 🤣
Front end of the Santa Cruz looks like it was designed on Z'ha'dum.

Babylon 5 reference. One of the residents of Z'ha'dum:

Ah, I see! LOL!!

Ultimately it's personal preference. I've seen them in person as well, to me the grill and light design looks cheesy as all hell.

As a desperate buyer I looked at both the Santa Cruz and Maverick along with a few other front wheel drive vehicles since I had our car totaled out the last week of January 2021. The Santa Cruz front wheel drive, was available, was my second choice behind the Maverick, did not think available, with an escape third, available. I needed a vehicle so even though the Santa Cruz‘s gas mileage was not good it was not a deal breaker. I then got a call from the contacted ford dealer, who was checking on a front wheel drive escape for us. He told me that someone backed out on a Lariat Maverick front wheel drive Hybrid And if we wanted it? What!!! Even after a dealer markup the Maverick was still less expensive than the Santa Cruz that was in stock. Done! I can’t be happier with the Maverick! It has done everything that I need within our budget! Now with the gas prices soaring I feel like we got a gift!

You ask this on a Maverick forum and most people will say Maverick. You ask this on a Santa Cruz forum and most people will say Santa Cruz.

Me:. I'm getting a Maverick. It all comes down to economics. The Maverick is less expensive and the hybrid gets more MPG so it will be less expensive to refill.

Utility-wise there are pros and cons to both. I don't mind the SC look quite so much personally. Both vehicles look acceptable to me. I think SC aimed for looking cool and youthful and Mav aimed for looking rugged and classic... I don't really have a preference. They both score about 7/10 for looks for me.

The deciding factor for me was economics. Maverick is just a much better value machine. To purchase, and to refuel.

I’d take the Santa Cruz but I only like the limited and it’s about 15k more than the maverick I’ve ordered. Maverick is the value.

I thought you couldn’t even get towing on any trim Santa Cruz from the factory?

1. I wanted a truck that looks like a truck.
2. I wanted a truck that does what a truck is known to do.
3. I wanted a hybrid.
4. I didn’t want a car that pretends to be a truck.
With that said, I love my hybrid XLT Maverick in VB and the lux pkg!! It’s everything I need a truck to be!

I like them both. the Santa Cruz still reminds me of the Subara Brat. If you remember those?
I like the warranty for the Santa Cruz

I'd look hard at a base model SC, but there are none to be had within 250 miles of me, only the higher end ones.
