Surprise surprise! Guess what feature is not operable today. The chat function on Ford.com will not even let you sit in line to chat with an agent. None of the "you are 4th in line". It literally says they are busy and to try again later.

I think every order should get an email every thursday stating you're not scheduled or you have been scheduled. Getting an email from ford and then reading to find out whether or not I have a vin yet would make me feel alive.

I know this goes against a lot of classic Corporate Comms and PR principals, but I'm sure everybody here would be much happier getting emails like this.

+1 for showing reservations and orders prior to receiving a VIN.
Even just listing that an order is confirmed would have saved a ton of headache and worry.

I agree with what others have said but I do have somethings to add:
I've been buying Fords for the last 45 years or so and I can attest that Ford makes the best truck in America however you have the worst PR/Customer service, its almost as if you don't like us or something?.
So I'm asking, no begging, please do not let the Executive in charge of this mess anywhere near Engineering or Manufacturing. (at least not until you build my Maverick)
Also it would be in the best interest of the company and your stockholders to simply fire this person and hire Tim. Give him a corner office pay him a couple of million a year with stock options and Ford will be a much better more profitable company.

So are we going to do a "I called/chatted with Ford and got scheduled" thread on Thursdays? It could start off with the phone number and instructions on how to get to the chat...

I am going to chat with Ford every Thursday from no on, for so many reasons, but pettily using Ford resources in revenge for them eliminating a cheap instance of contact is gaining in importance.

I am normally a very sane and forgiving person, but this new system is an active, intentional step away form good customer service. Up until now, I could write Ford's terrible communication off as an older manufacturer that hadn't kept up with the times. But now I know Ford is actively taking steps to make my experience worse.

P.S. - if you don't want to send out VIN emails when they are assigned, maybe just start showing our Mavericks in the Orders section of our Ford accounts? That way we can know the order is fully correct in the system??????

Same here. Have tried the last couple days on desktop and mobile and no start chat option appears.

I'm a bit confused, your post says you're getting an Ecoboost, yet your signature says you changed to a hybrid. I'm guessing you changed back?

Interesting message, coming from someone so patience, yet has posted almost 700 messages, and joined in Dec.-- 7 months after others who still have heard nothing definitive. Wish we all were able to be so magnanimous to Ford on this message blackout decision! Perhaps you just ignore anything from FMC and wait until your dealer calls and let the rest of us at least get some "false hope" messages occasionally!
Im just here for the Maverick vehicle information, content of people offroading, customizations, future ford vehicle speculation, the song thread, the meme thread, and general automotive comradery. I work a hard job 40 hours a week, build/fix cars when I'm not hurting and the suns up. After that I watch tv and instead playing on facebook or all the other digital twits and twats. I get on here and look for new information about Ford cars that I like. Also I am a chatty person who likes to tell people what I know.

I was in the Bronco line long before the Maverick, but it turned out the Maverick was better for us. So I ordered from Granger knowing full well that I could get a call anytime between this spring and the end of oblivion. But I saved $3000 and my old cars still run most days. We live on island time and cannot change reality. Fun fact if mine arrived at Granger today it would be MID MAY before it hit my driveway. If people have no vehicle and are desperate, take the challenge to buy a $1000 beater off craigslist and learn how to fix a fuel line or whatever. Used cars are so crazy anything shiny-ish you will be sure to get your money back. Or better yet donate to a homeless person if you are well enough off. I mean do the math $1000 car plus $500 to keep it running. Divide that by say another 6 month wait from today on top of your 7. Thats $250 a month. probably cheaper than your Mav payment unless you are rich and buying with cash then forget you go buy a Lincoln. So its totally worth it if you set the car on fire and roll it down a hill, as they say, when you get your Maverick.

Patience is a virtue, needyness is ugly, fire burns, chicks dig scars, and crack heads make bad neighbors. Cant wait to see your happy excited post when you finally get yours.

Relying on Ford to send an email is like depending on the Vikings to win a Super Bowl. I still have yet to see one message from Ford about my order, whether it be a confirmation, FITS crap or blanket garbage email. The only thing I ever receive from them is a reminder that my FordPass balance is zero. No, they are not blocked and nothing shows in spam so it's obvious they never send them. The only way to get any solid info is to get in touch with Ford Marketing and talk to a real person. This will be my 10th and final new Ford I purchase.
Did you remove your spray in bedliner?

Texted my salesman today asking for some info, since the dealers as supposedly getting status updates that we are no longer getting?
Just heard back from my salesman.
Just moved from Priority 10 to Priority 2 this week.
Hopefully a build date soon!
He is going to keep me posted on any changes.

You have to have Location services turned on in your account settings. Then click on the box that says Chat SYNC & Service. Skip the box for VIN #.

Did you remove your spray in bedliner?
I can't. It's part of the lux pack and I refuse to remove it. It shouldn't be as much of an issue because plenty of SIBL's are still getting done on similar builds that were ordered long after mine (and before they switched to DIBL's).
