+1 more hybrid experiencing this
At first I thought it was a matter of learning a new vehicle's behavior, but after a couple thousand miles I'm realizing it's just dangerously inconsistent.
It's all the usual low speed scenarios... stop-and-go traffic, inching into a garage, and easing into...
It's been a full year since Ford officially revealed the Maverick and started taking orders.
Do you remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard the announcement?
Related: Condolences to the unfulfilled June 8th orders who have now been waiting an entire year.
The new email system sends notifications much closer to when the build actually happens, and we have not yet reached the threshold where those will arrive. We should start seeing those in a week or two.
Scheduling is still happening. The only thing missing is our weekly ceremony.
I hope the...
tldr:
The author wonders if the Maverick will remain popular, be displaced by other rumored small trucks, or die and leave a market gap. There's no new info here.
Keep in mind that there's going to be a few weeks without email notifications since the process changed. It seems like most of the outstanding June and July orders have been/will be scheduled in May, but we probably won't know for sure until May 12th when the short-term scheduling notifications...
I can relate with not wanting the attention, but the way I look at it: the hybrids sold out before a single one was delivered, and this is an entry level vehicle. If Ford can get the parts, there's going to be a few Mavericks in every parking lot in a couple years.
It's like watching water boil...
I got an update from my dealership saying I have a VIN and a build date.
Order date: 7-28-21
Scheduled build week: 5-16-22
Build Info:
Carbonized Gray XLT Hybrid Lux
Copilot 360
Rear sliding window
I checked last Friday. My order could be scheduled now, but I think it's a bit unhealthy for both myself and customer service to have weekly calls to update. It might be tempting now that scheduling feels especially close, but it's felt close (almost) all along.
Looking at the whole process...
+1 for showing reservations and orders prior to receiving a VIN.
Even just listing that an order is confirmed would have saved a ton of headache and worry.
The planned scheduling is always tentative. Other than Maverick, only Super Duty, Transit, and close-out scheduling for ecosport had been planned this week. Given constraints and shortages, switching this week to clean-up scheduling isn't a surprise.
On the upside, I bet we get another crack at...
You can see two other burned vehicles in the pictures, and all three have the same sale date:

The lack of crash test data was the #1 reason I didn't order earlier. In the end, the Bronco Sport and Escape tests were enough for me.
The news is disappointing, although we've (un)fortunately had some real world results posted a few times. While the accidents were obviously bad for the...
Just glancing through, it looks like most lux+360 packages were Lariats, which makes sense if they're trying to push FEs through as well.
I'd guess they'll have a big XLT hybrid lux+360 week coming soon based on how much they seem to group orders. I'm not sure what's more realistic to hope for...
I might be a bit more pessimistic than June/July. Ford cut off hybrids because of capacity in Nov. If that means they're still making hybrids until the end of MY22 production, some Oct/Nov orders are probably going be waiting until September before they're built.
Looking back through scheduling...
The lower Bronco Sport numbers are partially related to balancing out MY21 and switching everything over to MY22. We still might see a shift where Maverick production catches up to Bronco Sport for MY22, but it might not be as dramatic as we want.
On the other hand, November had halted...
